Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

An extremely well maintained, regularly serviced 2010 Ford Classic owned by a colleague reached this interesting milestone yesterday. Thanks to him for the picture.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

A 2011 Tata Nano did 2,46,000 kilometers without any issues or engine works. Only clutch replacement and other regular maintenance is done.

Impressive. However, this is a car from Sri Lanka, and not India. So the road conditions it would have had to endure are quite different from those in India, I think.

Might be one factor, heard of few Sri Lankan Nano taxis that did 3 to 4 lakh kilometers and still going strong. Basically Nano is an abuse friendly vehicle, I can vouch for that. My Nano did around 80,000 kilometers and there were no issues, what could have been better is power, refinement, and NVH.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 2012 Jan Swift ZDi had done 122821 kms in 5.3 years just before it was sold in 2017. It was on its stock clutch, second set of tyres, third set of brake pads and was completely free from any mechanical glitch.

Would have clocked close to 200k kms if retained, but didn’t take that chance. Only some good memories left.

The last pic before it was handed over

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 9 year old Skoda Laura MT TDI (2011) recently completed 183000 on the odo. Must say it's going very bullocky even now. I did an engine remap with Pete's once it was out of the 4 year warranty. That sort of given it a fresh lease of life - a second wind so to say. Still gives me many a wide grins behind it's wheel.

My family have had so many red-letter trips in it and it has never left me stranded.

Few pics from my archives.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My November 2015 Ford Figo 1.5 Tdci recently crossed 109000 kms. It's gem of an engine and real mile muncher. This car didn't give any (major) trouble and is still hoot to drive.
And yes, against common misconception among general public, Ford ASS is not expensive as many say, it's relatively easy on the pocket.
I hope to keep this car for another 5 years.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Here's a humble Passion Pro belonging to a younger motorcycling buddy of mine from TN.

Bought in 2013, it crossed 100k km on the ODO earlier this year. The engine assy is untouched, main reason being diligent care and that this level headed rider barely touches 70-75 kph on open roads, thus keeping himself and others safe within safe working parameters of both man and machine.

Here's me wishing him many more (s)miles on his trusted weapon of choice.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Heres an odometer reading which is the highest I have seen on Indian roads so far!
2.5 million kilometres!

Skip to 1:10 in the video

Vehicle- 2012 Volvo B9R (most probably had an engine overhaul at 12-15 lakh kms)

This bus was previously owned and operated by Kallada Travels.
As per the description by Noushad(the uploader), this bus just did a Coimbatore-Bihar trip. Its common to see interstate buses with 10-15 lakh km on the odometer but 2.5 million km is quite a feat!

Coimbatore-Bihar? Hope that was one off trip may be.

If we take an average of 800kms per day, this means that the bus would have atleast run for 3125 days - amounting to >8.5 years. Volvo engines must be engineering gems to survive this long, noteworthy because they are diesel engines, which generally require higher maintenance.

Hi Klub Class,

Brilliant! Yours is the highest odo clocked Multijet that I have seen in India.

Your Punto Multijet inspires me to do a similar feat on my Linea Multijet. It is currently at 51000 kms in 3 years 8 months.

Any tips that you have for other Multijet users like me to keep their rides in top shape? In hindsight, what do you think you could have done better? What major part failures have you had? Upkeep expenses so far? Did you get stranded ever? If yes, cause and how did you deal with it? I suppose yours is the 75hp version. When did you do the timing chain replacement and how many times have you done it so far?

Look forward to a detailed reply or maybe even a long-term ownership review to help other Multijetters.

Wow that's cool. Am at 1,05,000kms on my Punto in 7 years of ownership.

The itch to upgrade has become unbearable
