Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Looking at these amazing odometer readings - I wonder what would be the estimated resale value of these cars?

We usually find very few buyers who would even consider buying a used car above 50k kms. With readings as high as 3 Lakh kms - how much do these cars end up selling for in the used market? Needless to say - the resale value without tampering the odometer. Or do people don't really sell these cars after such usage?

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...hip-years.html (Lowest reading on Odometer for number of ownership years?)

6700km in 15 years as per the OP of the above thread!

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Yesterday I took a Etios cab from airport to my place. I was shocked when I heard that the ODO reading is at 841k+ kms. It was 2014 model. I have heard about these kind of readings from Innova, but never from Etios before. Even more shocking was some of the things he told me like,
1) Clutch was replaced only once at around 540k kms.
2) Brake pad were replaced 3 times so far.
3) No major issues from engine so far
4) He replaces the battery voluntarily once in every 3 years.
5) He replaces engine oil at every 10k kms
6) He gets the servicing done from outside service center and the cost will be around 3-3.5k.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

We bid adieu to our trusty 2010 Altis (1.8 GL) earlier this week. Handed her over to the new owner with a little under 121,000 KMs. Still drove perfectly with zero issues. Only work left pending was a cracked front bumper. Other than scheduled maintenance and replacement of wear & tear parts, we've never had to touch any of the mechanical or electrical bits. Definitely a bitter-sweet feeling watching her being driven away, after driving her for over 12 years. Excited for our new car but missing the Altis already! I really wish Toyota decides to reintroduce the Altis in India (highly unlikely, I know).

I can't think of another sedan that offers the balanced package the Altis used to. Yes, the Altis was not a 'drivers' car. Yes, Toyota was stingy with feature offerings. But the Altis was a car that offered you all the essential things needed to be a trouble free long term steed and could drive on till the earth stops spinning (with only scheduled maintenance), while carrying you comfortably over almost any road conditions without breaking into a sweat.

Update: The Golf did not make it to 200000. After ~65k kms driven, I exchanged it and bought a 2016 make, 176k run Lexus NX300h back in Feb. Currently, Odo stands at 186400kms [~9500 driven by me]. I have my initial impressions here.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 1998 Jeep Cherokee has well over 320000 km on it. Our 2015 Ford Fiesta we bought in 2016 has just passed the 100k mark.

My latest purchase, my 2010 Mini has done 107k

So it is official now, all our six cars have done well over 100K. All still going strong!

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

I just saw a Honda City iVtec (2012) that did 2,70,000. The owner says he is not in the mood to sell it.

My current Honda City has 1,05,000 on ODO.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

After a leasing and owning a few cars here in Netherlands, I purchased my highest mileage car at 1.75lac. Its Lexus NX300H which I got in last Feb which since then completed ~18k kms getting closer to 2 lac now. My ownership thread is here.

Edit: I thought I had not posted anything on this thread yet - but I see I had dropped an update a while ago. Anyhow, looking forward to hitting 2lac ASAP

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 2017 January Toyota Fortuner hit the 2 lakh km milestone last month.

Needless to say I have faced zero issues with it so far. Have driven with Family throughout India in it and can do the same even in the future.
