Re: 1,00,000

4 years later, both of them crossed 80K mark. Waiting for the days when each will cross 1,00,000.

Those are some mind boggling figures. No repairs except for the new alternator at 5.15 lac km, salute to Toyota reliability. By the way was this Innova with a yellow number plate used for commercial purposes? Just wondering because no private vehicle would run that much in 4 years flat.

No offences meant but is it possible in real world? It works out to be an average running of 538 km per day continuously for 4 years..

Even if it is a taxi, it seems too impractical!

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My dad had a 11 year old LML Vespa 150 which had done 75k kms with an overhaul at 65k kms. It ran like a dream and returned 40+ kmpl. He had left the scoot for a service at the service centre(his friend's Bajaj SC). The next day he returned to take it, he learnt that the scooter was accidentally sold off as an exchange vehicle. And finally, it was sold for 15k INR when he had indeed bought it for 13k before 11 years- talk about resale value.

PS: The incident is of 2000 when scooter had a decent resale.

Below is my guestimate, can you show where I went wrong pls?

2006, 07, 09, 10 - 365 days
2008 - 366 days
Which makes 1460 + 366 = 1826 days

Taking the face value of 775000/1826 = 424 Km a day

This means, the car is being driven everyday for 424 Km; quite possible if the car was used as TAXI. But thinking practically...

Service needs to be done for every 5000 Km, so that means the car is serviced once in every 12 days & when the car is in service it doesn't put 424 Km, recalculating...

1826/12 = 152 days the car was idle (or the car required 152 services)

1826-152 = 1674
This means, the average running per day = 462 Km

This is excluding...
- The day wasted when the car goes to FC (if it's taxi)
- Assuming the car spends only one day at ASC (even when there's more than a Lakh Km on the ODO)
- Assuming all the spares were available off the shelf so car didn't wait for any spares to be fixed

And 462 Km is like driving everyday from Chennai to Bangalore & back from Bangalore to Krishnagiri...EVERYDAY

SANE...driving time is nothing less than 8 hours a day (avg speed of 57 Kmph). This is just the driving time excluding rest, which easily builds to 10-12 hours of WORK everyday for the driver

In the event of "frustrated driver", don't know who does the job + how the additional Kms are clocked

Whew!!!

Now let's spare the 2.1 years & 3.1 Lakh Km Innova for another day...

Wow Ganesh, you seem to be an expert with excel eh!!!
But honestly feel that doing 400 Odd Kms per day would be like asking for too much and without a single break down Guess the only way such high numbers might have been achieved would be with 3 drivers working on a 8 hour shift with the vehicle being on the run all the time. If 3 drivers got to drive it, then the probability of the vehicle breaking down is much higher compared to a single driver.

My swift car has completed 119000 Kms in 59 months without an engine overhaul. Performance is still flawless and mileage on the highways is around 19 with city showing up a poor 14 KMPL.

Mine is a Mahindra Renault Logan Jan 2008 model. Till date have crossed 92k on the ODO
Swing arm and mounting points were replaced at 85 k and now have a recent AC gas leakage from the coil.
City mileage with 100% AC is at 18.5 and on highways at 21 to a litre of Diesel

Manikjeet, that is phenomenal - albeit a little superman-esque!!

775,000 KM in 4 years averages out to well over 500 KM daily!!

Where have you been driving to mate?!!

Just to put things in perspective; that is like going from Mumbai to Ahmedabad OR New Delhi to Jammu one day and then back the next. And this cycle continues. Day in and day out for like 1400 days!!

I suppose 500 KM would take anywhere from 8-10 hours to cover. So that calls for a superhuman effort on the part of the driver as well!

Incidentally 7.75 Lac KM is also almost exactly the distance to the moon and back.

I remember few Taveras and Sumos attached to a BPO transporter and the max per day mileage for a cab was 550 kms as per records (400+ actual) for three shifts with driver rotation. No cabs lasted for more than two years, either sold off or went for regular taxi.

This 7.75 L kms without engine rebuild? Looks great!
