I had a Nov'95 Zen which had about 56,000 kms when we bought it used in 2001. It had about 1,30,000 kms when I sold it in 2008. Replaced the clutch at 85,000 kms. The right drive shaft and the steering rack & pinion unit were replaced as well around 1 lakh km. Didn't have any performance issues with the Zen, but once I got my Verna CRDI, realised that performance is relative. Nevertheless, enjoyed the Zen for what it was worth & enjoying my 2008 Verna which has clocked about 46,000 kms to date.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

The odo in my SS80 just rolled over a few days back. The car needs an overhaul but I think it can be pushed for some more time.

The previous owner had overhauled it before selling, but it was not done properly. But on the whole its quite dependable and I have not had any major problems yet.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

So, My accent crossed 1L mark, 2 weeks back. Current odo stands at 1,00,900. On stock clutch and stock suspension, No issues. Going strong.

Going by the current condition in which the car is, I am sure, It will hold on another lakh kilometers easily. No way, i am going to sell her

This thread has become heated since I last posted here.

Went to my favourite mechanic for some work on my car.
Saw another Toyota qualis being delivered to a taxi driver after its second rebuild. Done nearly 13 lac. Kms. 2004 model. The qualis has helped his owner expand his fleet to three including two more taveras. And he got an offer for 2.4 lakhs while I was there and he politely refused
.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Last Maruti 800 we've bought back in 1996 was 75k kms driven & when we sold it it had clocked ~1,80,000 kms.
Happily it spend miles & miles with us, with stock engine(without an overhaul) & stock suspension.

Then we're having Alto LXi with us now, it has also clocked 1,05,000+ kms till to date, with Stock engine, Second All-around Suspension setup & 2.5 set of Tyres(as only front set of tyres is replaced thrice).

How is the body line holding up?
Mine had started showing signs of rusting at 2-3 places after 6 years of ownership.

Well, no rusting is there. But, body line is dented a bit. I'll post the pics, showing the same. Only thing which bothers me is rattling, From dashboard and doors, I go mad when car goes over a rough patch or some pot hole. I'll see, If i can do a DIY fix to this, Or i will get this done in next service, which will be in another 2-3k kms or so.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 2002 Model had clocked 2,45,000 kms when sold back in 2008
My dads 1999 Model Lancer has clocked 2,90,000 kms and it is still retained with us. Dad wants to keep it till the car dies . He services it at an authorized dealer even up to date.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Our Fiat Uno from the year 2000 has clocked 103,000 kms on its odometer till date and is still going strong. We are happy with its performance. Getting spares for it is a tough job. But still we decided to keep the car with us.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Honda Civic 2007 clocked 73459 kms. A gem of a car. And Fiat Grande Punto - 67032 kms.

I have two unique cars. One has just been pulled Off from the market, the other barely sells. And I love them both
