Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

2,35,000 on my Accent Viva CDRi 2004. Still running fine apart from suspension noise and body creaks.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

2004 Alto lx with 229802 km on the odometer, belongs to a friend of mine. He claims that only wear and tear parts (like clutch, suspension, belts) have been replaced, rest of the major components are still stock. I recently drove the car, the engine was pulling well throughout the revv range, only thing was that the engine was sounding a bit gruff (only slightly).

2011 Fiesta 1.6 ZXi with 142808 km on the odometer. This car belongs to my cousin (& neighbor), so I have been seeing this car since day 1. She has been extremely reliable, only during the last 6 months some overheating related problems have surfaced. Initially the electric fan gave away, that was replaced. Then the water pump started leaking, which was replaced yesterday along with the coolant expansion tank. Hopefully the overheating problems will be sorted once & for all. The 1.6 Duratec engine is still punchy as ever, pulls cleanly from really low RPMs.

Being that it's at 2.29L km, I guess the gruffness would be because it's due for a service at 2.30L km? Maybe an oil change and even that wouldn't be an issue ..

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Had done 1.12L kms on a Premier Padmini (1983) when it was sold in 2008 and it was still in a very good condition, no engine work done. Also have a Maruti Esteem (1995) which has done 1.13L kms to date but is very sparingly used now, still keeping it for sentimental reasons

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Sorry for the off topic post, couldn't resist myself when I saw a 7 digit odometer reading . The odometer on this Volvo bus (9400) was reading over 11 lakh kilometres, she is a 2012 model. This bus daily shuttles between Tinsukia / Duliajan and Guwahati (500 km one way). The bus driver told me that the engine & gearbox (6 speed MT) on this bus is still untouched .

These readings are fairly common across buses. When I had been to Egypt recently, the tour bus had done about 8.8 lakh kilometres.

Other readings:
1. A neighbour’s Swift LDi (first-gen, not sure of the year) has run 2,25,349 kilometres as of today. The engine has not been changed. This is their family car.
2. My Swift is just at about 62,000 kilometres in 12 years. She’s still young though, compared to the other readings here!
3. A Forester in the neighbourhood has done about 94,000 kilometres in 15 years. (2004 model). Owner has no plans of selling it

I envy these figures. Having seen these numbers i wish we had such good roads and long car ownership patterns in India too.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Well I crossed 1.5L KMS on my XUV today.
I had bought her pre-owned in November 2015 @ 42K KMS.
It's a 2012 November manufactured vehicle.

Still deserves a second look I will say.

Good to see a XUV doing such mileage. I brought mine home on last sunday, a brand new W7 MT.

My 2014 Terrano's current reading is 1,45,×××.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Slightly different scenario since I'm in US. My own 2009 ES350 is coming up on 1,50,000 miles i.e. 2,41,402km and its going strong. I also have a Toyota Highlander and its coming up on 1,10,000 miles and has everything stock except tyers/brake pads etc which are regular wear and tear items. Lexus is a daily commute car for me and only things changed besides regular maintenance was CV axle joints due to bad California roads and oil pan due to stripped screw. I put close to 120 miles daily on my lexus as I have long commute and its still going strong. Plan to keep using it until it dies which I hope is at least around 3,00,000 miles.

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

We had an OG Tata Indica which we sold after 220000 on the ODO. And it was a really good car despite all the NVH issues and some niggles.

Right now, my personal car i.e. petrol Baleno Alpha is on 66000. I plan to take it to 150000 at least. And I have no doubt it will reach there going by the reliability of the car till date.

That's amazing. Are Volvo buses so reliable?
What's the average service interval and cost?
