Only 10 days, Fiesta@5.29 lacs - How big a discount is this really?

I just checked the ford website randomly and came across this. Calculating further, I figured, the actual difference is coming to about 40K. Any comments? The 5.29 lacs ex-showroom Delhi price is for just 10 days.

Ford Fiesta starting from 5.38L (ex-showroom) for 10 days!!-ford.jpg

Was just wondering if these discounts have anything to do with the Financial crisis and all, with Ford Motor on the verge of bankruptcy.
i was reading an article somewhere that ford india is in the red. Secondly - I would like to think this cut is in anticipation of the Linea. cheers:

Yeah, i feel scary about going in for fiesta and one fine day next year , the company closes down !

I was observing, even Zxi is going very cheap and Sxi is straight away very expensive. So Zxi is most VFM model right now.

I guess there have been multiple triggers - launch of ANHC, slowdown in the economy and december blues. With people waiting for the Linea too, I guess verna's, fiesta's and SX4's are sitting pretty in dealerships!!

I heard rumors that the fiesta may get a 1.6 diesel engine early next year, so perhaps this is a way to clear some stocks? Any idea if this is correct?

Tempted..but not really sure.

I Tdrove a 1.4 Duratorq yesterday (Sxi). Wondering if it made more sense going for the Zxi and then adding leather seats, alloys, fatter rubber?

Dealer in Siliguri does not have the 1.6 Petrol for TD. Is is "far better" to drive than the 1.4 Diesel?

How is the Exi different from the Zxi?

The Jasper Blue interiors of the sports? Does anyone of pictures of the interiors? I noticed on the website, it said fabric seats - a pity..!

superamerica, the 1.6S already costs 7.5 on-road... at least in chandigarh.. bought mine 3 months ago... so no change there...
the only reason they might be doing this is so that people buy the EXI variant, which i don't think sells too much. hv only seen a lot of ZXI's , some SXI's and have yet to see another S version in Chandigarh!!

EXI 621125 - disc of more than 1 lac
ZXI 654627 - disc of more than 90K

Delivery must be taken during this 10 day period.

I visited ford india website a couple of days ago. I remember that the price of diesel sxi was 8.14. That is a straight cut of 20K now. I am trying to remember hard what price i saw for diesel zxi. I am sure it was north of 7 lakhs.

Given the situation I think zxi diesel is the best deal. You can even buy the original ford alloy wheels and add that spoiler.
