again ford has taken the fiesta the escort way. price cuts without changes. the resale value really suffers.

Ford seems to be doing what Mahindra did a year or so back.
I think their strategy is to get more sales by selling the car at the introductory price for a limited time period, maybe as a way of celebrating their anniversary (though they haven't mentioned it, the fiesta was launched around this time 3 years ago if I am not mistaken).
We bought our Fiesta 1.4 TDCi ZXi at 8.52L OTR Company Reg in Mumbai, during the introductory price session (I am guessing at sub 8L price for non company reg. Fiesta 1.4 TDCi ZXi's at the time of launch) and they are selling the vehicle at a similar price right now.

I hope ford realizes that by discounting it further, they will put off a lot of buyers who may appreciate ford and were going to buy one.

I fail to understand why limited period price cuts?
I doubt if they are selling fiesta at a loss in this period.

So its the customers who were will get ripped by paying almost 90K more than its price.

here is a recepie for a great fiesta

i think one should go for the 1.6 exi version. because you can use the 91K discount money to pimp it up

first you add some 16" chrome alloys lolz(i dont know if its possible or not)

throw in some tyre upgrades,

drill foot paddles,

add the spoiler,

garnish with eather interiors,

add the important ICE with large LCD displays lolz

i like the black colour myself it will blend in witht the black door handles and orvms. but if possible get chrome door handles and mirrors.

i would have gone for the fiest 1.6s if there were no discounts 1.6s would be VFM then with all the safety features.

In the end sprinkle some love according to your taste and there you go enjoy your fiestaaaaaa.cheers:

I understand that a very few number of cars are allocated to various dealers under this scheme. The number of 1.6 EXI and ZXI are dismal. Pls confirm this from your respective dealers and book asap if it interests you.

That indeed makes a great idea, but a sucker for safety, I wish there were after-market ABS/Airbags. :(

Can anyone kindly tell me purely in terms of driving pleasure for an enthusiast how the fiesta exi compares with the ikon flair ??
i had already booked the ikon but luckily had'nt taken delivery yet but now with the prices so close guess it makes sense to go for a higher valued car in the Fiesta ... Experienced team-mates pl shed some light.

I think Ford is using profit by volume strategy. They have also introduced the IKON with FIESTA engine at very reasonable price.

Just a theory...but do you guys think that Ford is trying to boost its liquidity position by forcing sales up?? with all the bankruptcy news going around for the Detroit big 3
As per Detroit updates, Ford has cash reserves for a year w/o a bailout..
and in the Asian region except for Japan all countries have taken a beating including India..
However it seems Fiesta is the car to ressurect Ford sales
