Hyundai slashes prices by Rs.33,000

Hyundai slashes car prices by up to Rs 33,000- Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to boost sales in a depressed market, auto major Hyundai Motor India on Thursday slashed prices of its cars by up to Rs
33,000, besides offering benefits like free insurance and exchange bonus.

The company said in statement that its popular Santro model will now be cheaper by Rs 33,000 at Rs 299,000.

The price of Accent will go down by Rs 7,200 to Rs 499,903, while Verna will be cheaper by Rs.24,000, the company said.

Hyundai is also offering free insurance, exchange bonuses and free car accessories worth as much as Rs.15,000 to attract reluctant customers.

"The schemes announced should provide an impetus for our sales and offset part of the ownership cost, which has gone up considerably in the past few months," Hyundai India senior vice-president (marketing and sales) Arvind Saxena said.

Car Sales figures have been plummeting since January 2008, leaving the auto industry in red. Rising inventory costs and slack in demand have led various auto makers to look up to the government for a possible cut in interest rates and excise duty.

Look very attractive. Special price seems to be only for GL Model. On other models, I think there are same old freebies.

Santro offered at ten year old price

Yes this is good move and much expected one. Actually it would have happened 2 months back only which should have pushed better sales. Its common most of the business targets for more money every day rather than giving best price to consumer.

Expect more discounts in coming months. I feel around March 2009 is right time to buy automobile and expect few 2008 modles struggling to sell even in march 2008.

Regards,

Ravi.

Looks like the car bazaar has got a cold. That is why the discounts are just flowing out!!!!

I guess, January, Feb 2009 would be an optimum time to buy a car as many 2008 models would be left by then which might be available for a steal.

Wow! 2.99L for Santro GL!!! Too good! It used to cost 3.9L OTR in Bangalore. Now, it should cost around 3.6L!

Maruti Alto costs 3.34L OTR(without discounts). Maruti, are you listening?

After the surprise offers from Honda (Civic hybrid) and Ford (the Fiesta), it's Hyundai's turn to show how much they can offer !!!

Is the price of Santro's all models reduced? Any info about Getz prices?

Looks like the price cut is only for Santro & Accent, what about i10 and Getz?

getz crdi has no discounts or offers. i10 has 19,000 discount in pune. Not sure whether that includes corporate discount or not.

Hi guys,

Had been to Navbharat Hyundai here in Prabhadevi, Mumbai exactly a month back.
Enquired about Santro and i10. Dont remember the discounts on i10 at this point in time, but they were offering following discounts on the Santro
- 5000 cash discount
- Free Insurance which comes to Rs 9,900
- Corporate discount of 4000
- Exchange Bonus of 15000

The OTR price of the Santro Euro III GLS (Solid) was ~ 3,90,000
Bank of Baroda was offering an interest rate of 13%
