I saw the ad too.
Will call them.
I do not think it is the Turbo charged one as the ad would be different.

the euro III indica is the the same one as before, except with a few changes to the cat. con.

the indica is, however, coming in with the indigo's turbo engine, in a month or two; the indigo, on the other hand, has received an intercooler-which will probably find it's way under the indica's hood in a couple of month's time.

both the variants will be out officially soon; probably by the next month.

p.s- a new set of indicas, termed indica sport variants, are around the corner;and the intercooler has been seen before-in the geneva auto show, about a year or two ago.

specs;
indica turbo- 61.5 bhp,125 nm torque; top speed-156 kmph+, 0-100 in 18.0 secs(approx).
indigo turbo intercooler- 71 bhp, 135nm+ torque; top speed- 160 kmph+, 0-100 in 17 secs (approx).
indica turbo intercooler-same specs as the indigo; top speed-162 kmph+, 0-100 in 16.5-17.0 secs, approx.
indica sport- same specs as the indigo petrol, with enhancements in interiors and performance.
all figures are from tata themselves, sourced from a dealer.

Here's the part I don't get, they are going to sell two variants of the Indica simultaneously, one with the intercooler and one without? Strange but true?

Any idea on the pricing?

It is updated in the indigo website too!

It is official.

After weeks of suspense, Indigo website is updated with the information about new version of Indigo engine with intercooler..

It will churn out 71 ps of power.

Way to go Tata!

Though i wish this was launched earlier, its nice to see Tata Motors forging ahead! Is that 71 bhp on the diesel indica? Now even more car per car ....any clue on what the increase in cost would be?

I think they should be agrressive and get all the sales they can before hyundai launch the santro crdi!

Go Tata!

Ad-Hoc Job on the Intercooler in Indigo

hey Guy's,

Saw the Indigo TDI (Turbo Diesel Intercooler in Tata Term's) @ Prerana Motor's. Popped the Hood to find a Intercooler hitting my Face.. Directly Placed above the Cam Cover... with a Sort of rough Plastic Intake to re-direct air into the Intercooler from the Grill in front.

Tata could have done a better job in the Intercooler Placement, Indigo being a production model

now we will have to watch out for faster and more reckless taxis in bangalore!!!
