It's written on the door. You can see it in the enlarged image.

Whats new in its use of lithium ion ? The current best in class do not use lithium and hence its superior. The real deal would be what the pricing will be like on this. There is nothing to prove from a tech point of view.
A good effort by Tata. Again its all in producing it now and pricing it.

If ur right about this figure, then no more debates, 8.6 is listed at carwale.com. It's usually correct. Can anyone confirm this ?

Awesome car! sad that we cant have electric version any time soon as we do not have proper infrastructure for electric cars.
I think they are going to market it in Norway first (read somewhere .. not sure)

Actually carwale.com mentions 9.7 secs ( Honda Civic 1.8 E MT Specifications - CarWale.com ). However carwale.com doesn't actually test the cars for performance using VBox or similar data logging equipment, rather their performance estimates are based on owner feedback. This is what they have to say about their estimates-

"- Mileage and performance figures provided in technical specifications are estimated figures. Estimation is done on the basis of owner feedback and expert views".

Overdrive claims 10.2 and Autobild claims 10.6 for the Civic MT.

Since I have not personally tested a civic using a Vbox or gtech pro, I can't be 100% sure, maybe some civic owners who have tested these figures can confirm these figures.

Tata Motors is taking alternative technology and fuels very seriously. It has even bought the company that developed and supplied batteries for the electric Indica. An Indian launch is planned too, besides a hybrid Indica.
