I really really wish that this car becomes a success and a turnaround for FIAT in India. If they get their sales and A.S.S experiences right, we will have a C segment rule breaker.

This would have been my next car, if I had been in India.

Regarding price I feel all the three would be around the same bracket.

Linea has a strong mid range. In gear accelaration times are faster than the more powerful Verna. But it will lose out in flat out accelaration to Verna, taking some 15 seconds to reach 0-100 KMPH. Anyway faster than Fiesta TDCi.

Regarding size, Linea is bigger than the other two. It is longer, wider and taller.

A 93bhp NA 1400cc car isn't as underpowered as it is being made out to be. Lets wait for the real reviews. Thanks for the scoop.

thanks a lot for the info sid!
Looking at the specs of the active variant, i think it's gonna be priced at SX4 Vxi range,i.e, 6-7 lacs. The Emotion variant looks interesting with very good features that even beat the ANHC.I just hope it's not overpriced like the Ciity. I think my long wait for the Linea will be worth it.Desperately waiting for the launch!

Sid, you are amazing!!

The specs look very good. Hopefully it would revive Fiat's sales in India.

OT: Looking at the specs of the petrol engine I couldn't help but compare it with the Tata's engine on the Indigo XL. Which is the better one, just out of curiosity

I thought Blue&Me would be standard on the Emotion variant, but it's actually an optional accessory acc. to Sid. Even the alloys are optional on the Emotion. Why aren't such features standard atleast in the top-end variant!?!

The power figures are a bit of a turn off, I am not upgrading from Petra 1.6. Dimensions and features sound luxurious though.

great scoop.

Amazing service intervals, thats a greatly reduced down-time. (Will be loved by fleet operators)

White is the 'IN' colour now (read it somewhere, colour preferences of european markets), how could fiat not offer it at the time of launch :-(

i want a linea soon, and i want it white,
any idea when in 2009 will the other colours be launched?

Yes, 15k is just too good to believe.

TYPICAL LINEA DISPLAY:
  • time and date
  • ambient temperature
  • average and instant fuel consumption
  • trip meter and trip time (range)
  • low fuel warning
  • specific door open warning
Are these standard fitment?

Sid - you have done it again. Great job.
There so much speculation floating around the Linea - but with Sid's reputation, i can believe this will be accurate.
