You know why service intervals are so long?
It is because you will visit the service station/showroom less often, and that way they will not get to hear the complaints about their service just too often..

another major factor in A.S.S.

spare parts prices are believed to be very cheap and subsidised.
24 X 7 roadside assistance to all linea owners where in case of any problem, fiat trained technicians will come to your doorstep and solve the problem.

features are awesome. a clever gimmik indeed to hide that puny engine. hehe .
going by the looks of it. yes the linea is meant for those who want to be driven around in luxury! and dont bother of keeping up with other cars out there. haha.
and yes its logical too you can spend a lot of time inside the car instead at driver seat and get smoked by lower segment cars too. lolz.

15k service interval
i can see where this is heading

will the swift diesel guys post there service interval ??
add a VGT to the same engine with an ECU tweaking and in reality and practicality. ( logic too) the service interval should be atleast the same as swift! or yes actually less! [ the most probable thing is the air and feul and oil filter will be more better so as to keep the service interval at 15k kms. God save these people in this Indian Conditions] lolz

so indeed its true they do are going in for the mantra that diesel or petrol fiat cars are the most maintanance free vehicles available. lets wait and see . good luck to them on this venture.

cheers.

Thanks sid and rajen83 for the pics and features list! I loved the huge front grill! lends some character to the vehicle. But what surprises me is the Engine. Just fell that it might be a tad underpowered

one more reason for the car being targeted to chauffeur driven

rear A/C vent
rear armrest with glovebox and 2 cupholders and ashtray
front armrest with stowage box

Sid man you are just too good at getting scoops. Thanks for all the info. I am more of a petrol car lover and I think the specs look just ok, it would have been a better bet at around 110 bhp or so for a car this size, but then you never know how it drives till you actually test it.

Interesting features list. Now all should come down to pricing!

3000 kms/ 3 months for 1st service? Isn't it a really long interval to have first oil change?

Not really, in fact in Palio (all models), the first oil change is at 6 months / 7500 kms.

If all these features are to be believed, then I think Fiat has done a clever job in creating those multiple variants with correct options.
But again all comes down to pricing and I dont think it will be 'leaked' anytime before 2nd week of Jan :-(

I am assuming that they have tested all this properly. Afterall, they have been testing the car since 1.5 years.

Why this step motherly treatment ? What about the Palio owners ? They get the untrained TATA mechanics ?

Follow me home headlights is standard equipment on base model but it doesn't get rear power windows? Maybe Fiat thinks the taxi segment would buy the base variant?

Why?

I hope they have taken the pains to put 9 Indian languages there and not European ones!

"pencil coil" transformer for petrol engine
Whats that?

PS: I hope they are working on more powerful engines for the GP and Linea as we speak! Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the petrol Linea the most underpowered of all C segment cars?
