Added 1.5 inch spacers to all the suspensions, but still the front tyres are touching on the bumber if we take sudden turns. Need to do something on the Front bumber.

Is there anyway we can convert our sierras in a 4wd. Has anyone done this ???

What would be need, Do we just need a 4x4 gearbox ????

The Victa mirrors you fitted:
are these internal adjustment type direct fits for Sierra? as i have seen internal gap between the mirror and the inside plate is less in Victa. which of those plates (the stuff for concealing screws and holes on either side) did you use - Sumo or TL?

Did you make any changes to the internal adjustment lever or mechanism?

I'd love to see you car, really macho!

Guys no one has replied to my question.

Here it goes once again. Can we convert are sierra`s into a 4x4. What are the procedures. Did anyone try this??

there have been long discussions on converting Sierra to 4X4. For details please search Team-BHP.

But in short, I have not heard of anyone who has done a conversion. It is costly, too many parts to be modified and at the end you'd have spent equivalent to buying a second hand 4X4 Safari.

In my personal opinion, even if you go ahead and do the conversion, I feel Sierra is not a true offroader to take real benefits of a 4X4. The use would be restricted to broken/slippery roads only, I guess.

Think thrice before you decide!

In theory it is possible since Sierra did have a 4WD version but practially it will be a very difficult job and it is going to be hard to source the parts.

You will need to source:

4WD Gear Box with T-case and Torsion beam front suspension set up. You maybe able to adapt the Safari set up.

If you are really keen on doing it, I suggest buying an older 2.0 TCIC Safari 4WD. Swap the gearbox, t-case with your Sierra. Transfer the front suspension setup with the front drive shafts to your Sierra and buy a second 2WD front suspension for the Safari and sell it off. This is probably the easiest way to do this.

Are the ratios different for 4x4.

In some vehicle you can just remove the rear part of the GB and fit the T-case.

Depends on how the t-case is set up. For some gearboxes like in the Mahindra jeeps the t-case is integrated with the gearbox. It is not easy to convert the 2WD gearbox into a 4WD. Not sure how the Safari's t-case is.

It won't suit direclty, we need to drilled/ cut it (Gas welding) for the proper fitting for adjustment lever...
