My opinion,
1. Fiat Sienna - If you remember this one. It never appealed anyone I guess
2. Old Santro (Original) - Hate its front grill, frontage
3. AStar - New, but looks like an ugly frog
4. Sumo Grande - Taxi imaged sumo is better than this one
5. Innova - Hearse Van looks

Somehow, all the compacts look ugly to me. I guess a car should always be a 3 box sedan to be felt as a car to me I guess.

I agree with you that a 3 box car looks more like a car in the way that I think of a car in my head! But my thinking changed since the swift came out! It's all too common now but I loved it's design initially.

OT: 'null' nice nick!

Is there a way to make a poll with say 50 choices and make users pick their ten favourite (or should that be most hated?!), that would really give us the stats on the forum consensus!

Dzire would win hands down!! Almost everyone has listed this as the ugliest.

PS - No offence meant to anyone.

10th: NEW HONDA ACCORD: Bulky, but good looking.

9th: TATA INDICA VISTA: It's better than the previous Indicas (IMHO).

8th: TATA SUMO GRANDE: Sumo 'Grande'... Nah... It's SWOLLEN SUMO!

7th: HYUNDAI VERNA: Good looker.

6th: HYUNDAI i10: Agree.

5th: MARUTI SX-4: Agree.

4th: TATA INDIGO: A "hand-made" avtaar of the Indica. Yes.

3rd: MARUTI SWIFT DEZIRE: Agree.

2nd: NEW MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS: Would have been . But you have removed it. So .

1st: MARUTI A-STAR: It's not that bad to be here, in 1st place. There are better candidates.

WHERE IS THE LOGAN???

ZEN ESTILO???

My Ugly Car List [not in any specific order]

1) Honda City (2nd Gen) -- Sold like hot cakes but its really ugly -- the OHC was A SUPERMODEL IN COMPARISON -- and thankfully the NHC has been phased out and NHC (3rd Gen) looks superb

2) Sumo Grande -- what an ugly car! Can't believe this came from the TATAS who designed the great looking Safari!!!

3) Tata Indigo -- Its like an Indica with a boot hammered on at the back -- again this ugly duck racked up tons of sales -- indicating we indians dont care about the looks

4) Zen "CLASSIC" -- Makes me wanna spit when I see one

5) SWIFT DZIRE -- Thanks to us indians who cried out for a boot on the brilliant looking Swift -- this was the disaster that Maruti came up with!!!! And unsurprisingly -- it sells like hotcakes too!! [NHC 2nd Gen, Indigo, Dzire -- see a theme developing here?]

6) CHEVROLET TAVERA -- its plain boring to look at

7) Maruti Versa -- Ugly Duckling but a Swan underneath [as stated in a car mag]

8) Hyundai Verna -- Really ugly car -- the accent looked far better

9) Old Santro --Bug Eyed looks a strict NO-NO

10) Mahindra Logan -- lacks any charcter - but it can't be blamed because it was designed in such a way that cost was minimum

Dzire may top the list. But it was one of the most brilliant move by Maruthi to ride the Swift's success with an added boot. They are selling Dzires in pretty good numbers. The success of a Maruthi-Suzuki lies in the fact that they sell what pleases to the masses instead of experimenting with radical new concepts and designs. This is evident as they are posting profits when major Auto-makers are buried under losses. Just my 2 cents...cheers:

I think most of the good looking cars in India were never topped the sales charts. But this is how things are in our country. cheers:

I don't know why people hate the original Santro. Ofcourse when it was launched, people were joking about it as an autorickshaw and all, but compared to the current version on the roads, I prefer the looks of the older one - the headlights, grill, frontal looks, rear looks etc.
