Tata's logo on an F1 Ferrari ( FIAT )

Ferrari head Luca di Montezemolo has made it known that TATA branding would appear for the first time on the scarlet Ferraris of Felippe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen fighting for world championship hounours 2009.

Not sure whats happening, a wild dream, currently TATA is picking up FIAT, by look of things I feel in long it would be other way around

Update

An update...

Ferrari have bucked the global economic crisis squeezing Formula One by agreeing a sponsorship deal with Indian carmaker Tata.

"For the first time an Indian brand will appear on the Ferrari," president Luca di Montezemolo told Italian media. "It's historic."

A Ferrari spokesman confirmed a deal had been reached and said the details and duration would be announced shortly.

Tata and Ferrari's parent company Fiat have a joint venture in the Indian state of Maharashtra to produce cars.

Formula One approved a package of cost-cutting measures last week to help the sport after the economic crisis led to Honda's withdrawal.

madness.

they need to buckle down for the slowdown, instead they blow up money.

They should first close their homework on Corus/JLR first.

Other than Indian funding what part of Force India is Indian? Drivers? Technology? Staff? Test Facility? R&D and head office facility?

If you are so concerned about Force India and patriotism, the same question can be asked back at you - why cant the patriotic Force India which is 'representing our own country' use Indians and Indian companies to do all of the above? Or at least buy engineering services from INCAT or TATA, or buy services from TCS/Wipro/Infosys or some other Indian company?

Force India was bought so Vijay Mallya can put the Kingfisher logo on it for advertising. I doubt Tata could get a prominent logo position on that car, and also Tata can get much more exposure with the legendary scarlet car, which in turn means that it will be good for Tata and thereby India. Also Tata has a long-standing relationship not just with FIAT but with Ferrari as Ferrari's entire IT and services operations are handled by TCS.

So I don't see how patriotism or lack of it can be deduced from this matter.
