India's first Hydrogen fuel pump in New Delhi

IOC to open India's first hydrogen fuel pump

It's a 20:80 of H2:CNG, but maybe it'll pave the way to the FCX Clarity and it's ilk plying the roads in lil' ol' India?

Thats excellent news.
It says they will use the GM equinox as the test vehicle.

Seems like a totally new market will open up.

After watching the FCX clarity on the expo and the top gear episode, i just cant wait for it and more hydrogen cars coming into the market.

Bravo to IOC to initiate the Hydrogen Fuel in India.

I agree - this is certainly a good 1st step. Hope this initiative doesnt change with governments.

They'll have to have quite a network. The Clarity's range was about 200 miles ( correct the figure) if i remember right. So for it to be REAL first step, they'll have to have a decent number in the city

but as u can see CNG has eventually captured every area of delhi in 3-4 years time. if this thing works, it wont take long for these pumps to pop up everywhere in delhi

This is in Dwarka. It used to be my favorite IOC COCO outlet till one day the friendly pump assistant told me that the bunk will close down as soon as the current stock finished and would be converted to a Hydrogen pump. Good.

Hmmm.... Interesting.... however, since its a mixture of 20% Hydrogen to 80% CNG, none of the pure hydrogen powered cars will be able to use it. It also wont address the issue of pollution caused by CNG beyond a certain extent. However, its a beginning, so kudos to IOC for taking the initial step ahead. Now, lets see some auto biggies launch some hydrogen powered vehicles in India.

An engine that only gives out Oxygen and Water vapour as exhaust. Wow, thats going to kill the PUC business.

Wow! thats progress. Now only if there was a pure hydrogen fuel station, FCX clarity will be a reality

Call me a sadist...now our roads will be flooded...literally

By the way...is this fuel can be used in normal CNG vehicles or certain modified vehicles only?

Regards,

It is really a very good move. I assume Honda and IOC are joining hands to have FCX Clarity in India. As far as I remember, Honda has leased only couple of vehicles across US and Japan. It will definately be a good move if India is going to be the third nation in the world.cheers:

Manu, I don't know the address. But the location is like this:

- Go straight All India Football Federation building (assuming it is to your right). Take right from the T-Point and the pump is to your left after going for 100m or so.

If you go further ahead, there is another IOC pump by the name of Ganga.

It's actually 500 in the US & more in Japan. That car is truly revolutionary.
