Fiat is on the right track; what a statement their full page ad (this mornings TOI) made! The maroon ad effect is gorgeous, while the photo-shopped side profile makes the Linea look like a more expensive car. It is definitely going to get attention.

They still need to learn how to keep their website up and running. They have still not tweaked the bugs in the site.

Have not seen such a big and grand ad from FIAT since 2002. I hope they will market the car unlike Palio (2004-2007).

@GTO: You stole the words from my mouth .

Fiat is on the right track, first stabilize with the mileage oriented engines and then later bring on the higher powered engines. I guess they have given importance to mileage to erase the market perception that the fuel efficiency of Fiat cars are low.

Well, even our beloved t-bhp now has Linea banner ads being served. So this sounds good.

Here is a sample:

great pics madhokritesh, nice coverage both car and models)
Yesterday I went to tata showroom to check out Fiat Linea....my 1st reaction after seeing the car was WOWSSSS....it looks beautiful. My wife was also there with me and she also just fell in love with the looks of the car....its looks big and beautiful...I must say photos don't do justice to this beauty, one must see it in real to find out how good it is...
I took a test drive of the diesel car...it was just a small test drive as the car was not yet registered...and the 1st thing i noticed after switching on the engine and pressing the accelerator was that engine is indeed very noisy and the car is bit sluggish to start-off in the 1st gear but after that its was okay...nothing great and nothing to complain about...i mean it felt adequate for city run.....gear box is good and smooth.
Most of the things are already mentioned by other team-bhpians so I will just list down my likes and dislike about the car:
Likes:
1. Great looksrobably the best looking car in India below 15 Lacs.
2. Good interiors: good colour combination of black and beige. huge dashboard.
3. seats are comfortable both front and rear.
4. music system: sound is very good.
5. Blue and me: I was able to connect to the car and then able to dial and recieve the calls without using the handset...so its a great feature..

Now, dislikes:
1. Noisy engine
2. sluggish to start
3. headroom at the rear seats: I had read about the inadequate headroom at the rear and I have to agree with that. I guess anyone more then 5'9" will have problems with the headroom at the back.

Overall, its a good car and should be cosidered by everyone planing to buy a car in this segement. Only thing to be worry about is A.S.S. and i hope Fiat will improve this time.

It's the second variant that has been launched in India.

Living upto their names, Italians have done the launching with more of attention and bang on style rather than Machine.

Hope it delievers everything required other than style, as Palio was also stylish and good looking at the time of launch.

Rest everybody knows!

Have a few pictures clicked from the launch party. Will upload in the evening. All I can say is, the party was splendid, it was grand. Sadly, zero information on the product at the commercial launch. There must have been more info at the press launch that took place earlier in the evening. But that just isn't enough.

The petrol 1.4 is a 90PS (roughly 88bhp) engine peaking at 6000 rpm and more importantly, has a meagre 115 Nm of torque at 4K+ rpm. There goes driveability out of the window. Also, the Mjet is not 90bhp but 86PS (roughly 84bhp)!

@ MADHOKRITESH - Lovely pics. And thanks for clicking my back side:-
