Team-BHP Support ![]() | ![]() Have you heard anyone complain about the Optra ? I have not. Some feel shortchanged about the Corolla except the engine I rest my case |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() Performance - Corolla, with its killer VVt engine. 0-100 in 9 secs. Only the Octy RS & Accord V6 can beat it (by ~1sec) Handling - Neither is worth mentioning, but that at least its fixable with good tires. Ride - Optra Ergonomics - Corolla with its tall boy design and high(er) seating position Looks - Optra (personal) VFM - Optra I would go for Corolla because performance is everything for me. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hey guys, we have a Corolla and have sat in an Optra. Here are my views - 1. Maintainance - There is no beating the 3 year warranty offered by the Corolla but an 2 year extended warranty on the Optra is as good and it costs only 7 - 10K. The Corolla however will last for a longer time without any issues. 2. Ride - Definately the Optra. It has a much more cushier ride. 3. Handling - The Optra handles much better then the Corolla but as a drivers vehicle, the corolla with good tyres is a better option. 4. FE - The corolla with it VVTi engine is a much better bet when it comes to FE. Expect 9 KMPL in the city with A.C. 5. Interiors - The corolla feels built to a price wheras the Optra has a more luxurios interior with better quality and design. Think about getting one with the Beige trim. 6. Space - The corolla, is bigger and taller. There is as much space as in a Sonata and it is definately begger then the Optra. I would advise your friend to get the Optra but then again it is a personal choice. Even i would have done the same ( But if we were talking about 1.8s here i would have gone for an Corolla). Also why not look at the Rider 1.8? It is very solid, good looking, well built, comfortable, fast and a good handler. Not all that heavy to maintain either. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() I would say Optra, it looks much better, and rides much better. But after sales isnt as good, performance sucks comparitively. It really becomes subjective after a point. |
