There are 3 BHPians who have already booked the Linea. Lot of BHPians have seen the cars in flesh (including me) in the dealerships. Couldnt get a Test Drive though since its not officially launched.

Logically, the Linea may not qualify for this poll but there are people who have seen this car in flesh before posting a vote!

Diabloo - I think you are just trying too hard! Firstly, you cant assume people are voting without seeing the car. Agreed, not many would have driven it but then its already in the showrooms! And, as for C segmenters voting for ANHC, I dont know how far that holds water. I voted for Linea and would have voted for the Outlander otherwise and not the ANHC. Its a great car but not at that price! Linea definitely takes the game forward already purely on the features front if not anything else!

Voted for Linea though it should not be in the poll as its a 2008 poll however guess its so much talked about it had to be included!
If Linea is taken out my vote will be for Vista for its VFM proportion.

I'd like to know what people mean when they say "Have you seen the car?"

I have seen the ANHC - driving by on the roads. Is that good enough to vote for or against it? Same way I have seen the Audi A4. 5 people voted for the A4. Have they driven it? Or seen it? up close and personal?

Using that logic, auto magazines are better off judging the COTY since at least they drive all the cars before voting.

Quote:
Let people buy Linea
Let people service Linea
Buying and servicing plays a extremely small role in COTY. If buying, servicing and service expereince was a criteria then Honda would never win!

People who voted for ANHC & those who didn't, have seen it on road.
Please who voted for Linea (forget those who didn't), have they atleast seen it?

Remove the name Fiat from Linea - lets see how many votes are polled.

Seeing the numbers, I can say, TBHPians blindly go by the badge .

I have seen the ANHC, TDed it and I dint like it! Build quality was a big let down compared to the OHC & NHCs and the premium price filled the pile of cons.

I have seen the Indica Vista Quadrajet, liked the interiors, TDed liked it compared to the Old Gen Indica.

I have seen the Linea, dint TD it. But liked the overall package and quality of build!

If Linea was removed from here, I would surely be voting for Indica Vista!

I voted for Honda city, but its very unfortunate that Linea is added in this poll and its allowed to vote. so this thread has lost its ground. Best way would be remove Linea and allow those members vote again who voted for Linea.

This thread itself shows how most of the Members here do blind vote and type blind posts In future I hope every one learns from the mistake including myself.

Regards,

Ravi.

PS Car which is not launched in 2008 given credits, guys its shame to our community!! Please wake up.

Of the ones actually launched in 2008, I would vote for Corolla Altis. Rest all are "tin cans" and "hot air" for that year

And that according to you is good enough to vote for or against a car?

Ive voted for Linea, especially for/due to the diesel variant.
Its overall a good car, but we will have to watch out for Fiat's A.S.S.
After getting such an overwhelming response, Fiat must stand up for its consumers.

The car leading represents the demographic of Team BHP members rather that what could/should be the car having the highest impact. I don't think the Linea will 'have the most impact'; i honestly believe the A-Star shows the direction in which India's Auto Industry is heading. Finally after years of having to settle for 'hand-me down' designs & cars India is moving towards fresh ideas and products which are at par with the world. Maruti started the change with the SX4 and continued by bringing in updated designs for the 800, Zen & Esteem. I dont own any Maruti cars but seriously believe that the A-Star will have the highest impact.

Guys,

I have not ridden in any car listed above, save one or two but still voted. How ? Voted for the car that I would have bought if I were on the lookout for one in that segment.

I would not buy ANHC, i20 and Fabia coz I think they are overpriced. Neither the Linea since I want to see how Fiat has improved. Would definitely buy a Dzire if I needed a cheap diesel sedan so it was a close second. But the most definite answer was the Altis which I think is a better buy than Civic and the others in that price range.

Did not consider higher priced cars since I have no experience with them, either as a passenger or as a driver...... yet

Would
