Altis, ofcourse takes my vote! In that much money, nothing like it in whole world.

Maximum votes going to Linea shows how dissatisfied the Indian consumer is. They actually like a car on basis of expectations rather then going in for a car which they have seen and driven and have been disapointed.

I feel that linea in the list is a valid entry and votes going to it are not blind votes.

I agree with this logic. If I were in the market for a sedan, I'd have picked up the Fiesta 1.6S. But its not there in the list for obvious reasons.

And yes Altis makes perfect VFM, for someone who can spend 10L.

Exactly, I wonder how many of the voters would have driven all the cars listed to give a balanced view. Not many is anybodys guess! And, its necessary to drive all the cars before sitting in judgement!

As for the heartburn amongst the City lovers, come on guys, let it be, ANHC and Linea have been launched pretty close to each other and let them compete in the poll. We are an ethusiast's forum and not a car magazine going to market with the poll!

BTW, where is Honda Civic Hybrid - India's 1st Hybrid? Surely it was launched someday between 01-Jan-2008 and 31-Dec-2008.

I voted for Linea. Just like Swift (especially Diesel) changed the game in its segment, Linea has the potential to do the same. The question is, can Fiat execute ?

1. If all the people who have voted for this poll have driven all the vehicles in this poll, then I am guilty of having voted without Test Driving.

2. By the same logic as in (1) above, just test driving a vehicle is one thing, living with the vehicle, the A.S.S. and the re-sale is another thing. So even a Test Drive is not enough to vote for the car, strictly speaking.

3. I follow the logic of significance of the car in the market segment. The Linea has the potential to create a turn-around in the market in its particular segment, something like the Octavia did. Hence my vote.

4. If the Linea should not have been in this list, let the voting members decide that and not vote.

5. Why take it all so seriously anyways, COTY does not guarantee anything. Look at the Palio, COTY and all that didn't help it much, did it?

6. I think the Civic Hybrid should be there in this poll as well. But then it's a variant. Same applies to Bolero CRDe.

Diabloo, you seem to be very disturbed that Linea is in the poll, chill man, it is after all a poll.

It is a fact that Linea was the most awaited Car in 2008, it missed the Dec'2008 launch due to known reasons.

Nope - I am not disturbed. Actually, I want Jazz to be list, because Jazz will transform the Indian Car Industry. Also, like Linea, it is also coming in 2009.

Then why not the Fiesta 1.6S ? Engine might be same and all that jazz, but it redefines "Driver's car" concept.

It is very suprising that People are voting for LINEA (No offences to those who voted for Linea). It is a car that in launching pad for a long long time. It may the most anticipated car but then the features / cost is yet not official (i know the autocar list) and neither have any TD reports. So on what basis people have voted for Linea? in that sense why not include Mahindra Xylo, Honda Jazz etc. It seems to a case of "grass is always greener on the other side". let the car get officially launched and prices be announced, then may may be we include Linea in COTY 2009. my 2 cents.
I voted for ANHC

Pardon my ignorance but how exactly will Jazz do that because i cant see Honda pricing it without a premium and making it overpriced as it does with all its models.
