The design's a bit front heavy..but I like it.A worthy replacement for the U-VA.

U-VA replacement? Don't think so. it's gonna slot in between the spark and the U-VA. The sparks gonna go down the price list and the beat sits in between the 2 existing chevy hatches.

GM marketing better do some real good job in giving chevy a better vfm treatment. only then can it bother maruti and hyundai. remember the matiz did give the santro a good run as long as it lasted.

Agreed.
However off late Gm marketing is not able to create right ripples in indian car buyers mind thats why products like Magnum which are indeed good do not find many takers.
So this time they do need to be more aggressive atleast in marketing it.

Spotted Beat yesterday while I was going home on Pashan road. Surprisingly, there was a couple in the car instead of any test drivers. When I started chasing the car, the driver realized it and sped away.

Overall the car seemed pretty peppy. Badge was as usual covered up but could identify it due to the weird position of rear door handles. No photos as it was pretty dark and I was cruising at 60.

The Beat in the Spark icy blue color is regularly seen on the highway from Hinjewadi bridge to the start of the Mumbai-Pune expressway without any effort to hide the car or the badge. I have seen it with a single driver each time.

As vijay mentioned, the interiors of the Indian version sucks comparing the other photos. But we Indians wouldnt get the original version as they always make some and say it 'to suite Indian conditions' as they think we go for any crap that they give us.
For instance the Fiat Linea launched in India doesnt come with 'Rain sensors, Cruise control, reverse sensor, dusk sensors' etc., against its counterparts that is launched in Brazil and other parts.
It happens only in 'INDIA'...

IMO, new Chevy beat looks more asian than europian. unlike New Ford Fiesta which is truly European. and hey the car has 2 dents on rear bumper. bad driver..

Considering high cost of ownership (traditional GM + big big selling point in this sector), this car needs to be really exceptional to take on A-Star and i10/20 (assuming 30 competes with SX4 and City); just don't see it happening....cruze though, that may be something worth considering
