Isn't GM's research center in Bengaluru?

where are the rear door handles? I cant locate them.

GM seems to be intelligently heading into the territory even Maruti has not been able to accomplish.

Having a large product porfolio.

2 hatches down and 2 more to go speaks competition to Maruti and Hyundai loudly.

Also while Maruti failed to have premium cars in their kitty, Chevy has the Captiva and the New Cruze.

Now only if they make it known to the people their cars will sell.

The current sprak will be called the " Spark Classic" and the new Beat concept will be called the "Spark" when it goes on sales end 2009 or early 2010. GM seems to be having a good time ahead especially looking at 2 outstand products coming our way with the Chevrolet Cruze and the new Chevrolet Spark.......way to go GM.....

Looks just fantastic, futuristic, rather I should say muscular and raw. Will be very popular with freshers ( young professionals ) looking for there first car.

Now isnt that a bad strategy.
For anybody buying a 3 lakh+ car, there would be apprehensions in the mind of the buyers when you tell them you get a classic model. So there would be chances of a lateral sell(the same buyer going for a different car from a different manufacturer in the same price bracket) than an up-sell (the buyer settling for a higher priced New Spark).
I think Chevrolet should follow the Maruti model of naming each of their cars differently - as in the Alto / Zen / A-Star model range.
I like the name Beat. Sounds natural for a small car.

Anthym .... what you said is right but this is the info i have got from my sources at GM..... If u notice the name classic has not gone to well with indians .... rem the zen classic... what a failure it was..... anyways lets hope sense prevails in the minds of the top GM management.... anyways one has to accept the fact that the car is very good to look at ... very futuristic to say the least......

I am not sure if holds true for all vehicles. Just think about the Mahindra and you know why I said that.

Interiors look classy. Though obviously too early to comment, any ideas regarding pricing? Since the current Spark will still be on sale, I guess this will be more expensive.

Front Door Glass Area looks very huge and seating position looks good. Come december and we will be spoilt for choice with Polo also joining in the same segment. The only major auto manufacturer left in this category is Toyota. They should bring the yaris or aygo.

Toyota takes 4-5 years to launch a product in India. Fortuner coming after 5 yrs. Yaris plans started last year, will come for sure by 2012.
