Sid,
Any idea about the launch date yet?
Hope it is coming before end of year, as posted by someone previously.

Just happen to spot the new Chevy Beat in Pune on FC Road. Hope I'm not wrong in indentifying the car. Couldn't click more pics as I was in hurry.

Frankly speaking I didn't like it. Looks ugly.

Here is one more.

I totally detest the new headlight designs which seem to extend all the way to the A pillar. Why couldnt they have just kept it simple? The rest of the car looks decent enough.

The console looks quite unique. Unlike any on cars offered now.

It looks too muscular for the segment....

Liked it in some aspect and as shares by my fellow Bhpians, looks a lot of Suzuki genes in the making of this one!!!

Looks weird in total. Ritz'y !

Grill resembles the Cruze. Save those front lamps.

Whats with the rear door handle placed like that ?
Doesnt seem to make any sense.
It would reduce some glass area at the back. And wont be too comfortable to open / hold either.

I saw this car yesterday along with a white colour one. Frankly speaking it does not look that good. Its as big as Spark. I hope they launch a 800cc version of current spark (No more 1Ltr spark) and place this one between 3.3-4.3Lakh.

Headlights - those are as big as they can get. Lack of rear door handle in the usual place makes the side profile look odd. I guess I will look like a weird eccentric guy with this car on road.

That is exactly why it will work here. Dzire does and so did the Indigo. It is a little front heavy but check out the original Daewoo branded launch car here. With the right set of wheels, it sure looks smart. I have not seen a test car with good tires in India till date. I saw the Punto test car with good ones. Check it here..This looks like from the Seoul Motor Show. It is branded the Daewoo Matiz Creative there. See the Daewoo grill which looks better than the Chevy one.

For the segment in which the new spark would operate, looks are not going to be the decider (else the santro would not have been the hit that it is and the current spark would have done much better) it is a pure value segment where acquistion and maintenance costs matter the most and must be the least.

Looks though subjective are overall quite unique and in that sense most contemprary.

It was categorically stated at the Cruze's press conference that the Beat will be launched in December 2009.

The rear reminds me of the Ritz and the front uh.. its ugly. But maybe it looks better in another color.
