Just got back from the Motor Show whilst the setup was still goin on. Its got everything the Autocar 2008 edition had. Nothing great apart from these couple of vintages. The Dodge has to be seen to be believed. Its damn huge. One can surely fix up a bed in the boot itself. It is apparently the same Didge that was used in Om Shanti Om.
Other cars worth mentioning:
1) Nissan Skyline R34
2) Volvo XC90
3) Range Rover
4) Fiat Linea

I was at the MIMS.

I work in the same area.

Its worth goin gthere, though we managed to go today at 12 pm and weren't charged any entrance fees, I am told its 100 bucks..

1. Test Drive the Honda Bikes.. some cute small dirt bikes for children as well to try. the guys wanted my driving license, i did not have it on me, so could not ride any bikes.
2. VW Passat and Jetta on Display.. Absolutely rocking...
3. VW BEatle showcased.. Very cute and fantastic car, but no space in the rear for anyone other than kids.
4. Xylo was also on display. very few people around it.. Not at all impressed with the build quality, use of rubber extensively, cheap quality plastic and fabric. Wierd shape of the rear as all have mentioned before. But good space even in the 3rd row.
5. No one bothering to talk to you on the GM Stall. Captiva & Magna on display were covered with dirt and dust.
6. Linea is absolutely amazing.. Price from 7.8-9L OTR in Mumbai.
The Car rocks.. Good legroom and good quality of interiors..
7. Maruti A Star and SX4 on display. SX-4 looked real nice to me, but same like Beatle, not legroom and space at all on the 2nd row.

THis is what I managed to see..

But I am sure there woudl be others who would give more detailed reviews of the show....

Worth a visit, but not worth if I had to shell out 100 bucks.

Mumbai Auto Show..

Show stopper.
1 Mahindra 4*4 Experience
2 Linea v good car great looks
3 VW Beetle coming in Sept 09 as CBUs
4 Even Enfield stall was v good
5 2 Ducati
6 2 Vintage cars
7 VMF1 was good

The disappointment was FIAT stall barely 2 days after the launch there was absolutely no excitement on the faces of sales persons, but the car is too good

But it was not worth 100 Rs .most of the pavilion was empty showing the sign of ressetion

The Times Mumbai International Motor Show 2009 was, as expected, a very dull event. There were no exciting cars at

the event, just the regular cars which I'm sure everyone has seen. The entry fee was Rs 100 per person which I feel

should have been paid to us for visiting it.

The most noticeable stuff at the show were :
The Honda pavillion - They had all their bikes and scooters on display. They also had a few pocket bikes for kids to ride. Safety precautions were taken and all the kids had to wear helmets, jackets, knee pads etc.

The Mahindra 4x4 Track experience - Although the track was good, people werent allowed to drive the cars. Thats was the sad part of the experience.

Inside the tent, the only major manufacturers that were present were - M&M, Honda, Royal Enfield, Skoda, VW.

Anyways enjoy the pics :

Expo?! It wasn't even an Expo. And they had the cheek to call it "International". I at least expected some nice cars/bikes. I still thought there would be hope in the product stalls. And all they had to offer were keychains, weird gizmos that looked like Chinese products and Motomax AND MSEAL!!!!

Heck I seen more and better cars on my way there. And almost whatever was INSIDE the show, was in the parking lot!
