Kudos to Audi for being so bold !

The 3.2 Diesel will be a 530d killer ! I just hope they haven't priced it insanely high.

BMW has an award winning engine to kill the Audi again which is the 535d twin turbo. But I don't see the feasibilty of this car in India just yet. Even if BMW does bring it in, it would be purely to stay one up than the competition but wouldn't be a hot seller.

Although now I do see a possibility of a 325d being launched with the facelift.

@dipen: 530d costs 6 lakhs more than the 520d

They would rather bring in the 330D since they already have the existing 530D and they have already discontinued the 525D in India.
I do understand though that the engines are same with difference only in the state of tune.

My bad. I meant the C230. When I did the configure your C class in the MB India site, it does not show the C230 but when I click on the Vehicle information, its there.

Dipen, I think the difference in the ex-showroom prices between the Audi 3.0D and 520d is approx. 3 lacs. ( 520d being obviously cheaper ).

This is without all the discounts/ schemes that they have going on currently....

The new absolutely insane diesel is the 3.0L TDI 24-valve V6 with 240horses and quattro. This has a tiptronic tranny similar to the 3.2FSI quattro to handle all that power and the 500Nm of torque.
Sweet! While more engines (especially those with more horses) are always welcome, is Audi ever going to decide on a concrete road map? They change their engine options ever so often, including in the A6, that it gets a tad confusing. Even for a car enthusiast!

The 2.0T FSI costs Rs. 37L on-road mumbai.
Substantially more than the entry level petrols of the C + 3. In fact, 37L on the road is dangerously close to the entry level E & 5.

Audi always had a visibility problem, but they are taking care of that with showrooms in prime areas and frequent advertising. Now, they need to get rid of the CBU's and price their cars competitively.

The new engined A4's would arrive next month. I might be getting the 3.0 Diesel as my brother likes the car and showed a keen interest in it. The 2.0 was not bad either but as they say more the punch the better it is. The Audi's are in my opinioun more loaded with interior gizmo's than both the competitors. I was impressed with the car.

I really don't know what VW group are smoking!

Since the Passat is within striking distance of the C and 3, I guess Audi A4's pricing makes sense!

By the way, why doesn't the Passat get the 2.0 TFSI petrol here?

I'd say that is a very smart move. Petrols hardly sell when you have a powerful / efficient diesel. Just ask Skoda Octavia or Laura!

Cool to hear good about, My favourite brand of the Premium lot!

Well I don't know but why are the Audi guys going crazy about the pricing as for the comp.

They are losing the chance of making big in the market with this.

Hope as per their name (Audi), they are listening to us.

The Chennai dealer is clueless....

Boy o'Boy, That is one news that is sure to shake the ranks up and down. Beautiful cars they make and fantastic engine options. And now with Prosche's support, I think they are gunning for the top ranks. I was just looking at their future product lineup til 2010 and they all looks simply sweet. All the best, Audi! You've got a fanboy in me now!
