Audi A4 now with 2.0TSI Petrol and 3.0TDI V6 Diesel engines.

That's right Audi has launched the new A4 with 2 new engine options in India.

Apart from the 3.2FSI Quattro there is a new petrol engine option. The new 2.0TFSI engine has 180PS and has a multitronic i.e. CVT transmission.

The new absolutely insane diesel is the 3.0L TDI 24-valve V6 with 240horses and quattro. This has a tiptronic tranny similar to the 3.2FSI quattro to handle all that power and the 500Nm of torque.

Man some really good engines from Audi along with Quattro.

The 2.0T FSI costs Rs. 37L on-road mumbai.

BMW and merc both have underpowered petrol engines which sell much lesser compared to the diesel. I think this is a great move from Audi.

Are these CBUs with insane pricetags ..like the 3.2 petrol?

Whoa! Really good news. Where did you learn this from? The Audi website is yet to be updated. The 3.0TDI shall be a scorcher, and if priced right, BMW & MBIL with only trim upgrades in the form of Highline/ Avantgarde shall have a hard time. But still the reliability issues plague Audis, I hear.

The website is updated with the new engine options.

Audi India > New Cars > A4

On the right click on configurator. It will open up the India configurator page and you can select from the 4 engines.

Looks like BMW and AUDI has been more aggressive than the Good old Mercedes in the recent past. Mercedes has a lot of catching up to do.

What a car it is.

With new engines, excellent design and a good brand, its sure to be bad times for BMW and Merc unless they introduce more engines.

Like the C320 or the 330 or 335.

Although a nice move, it wont be so easy to win the game. BMW and Merc hold a special value as compared to Audi. Audi is still known to people as Ravi Shastri car.
Moreover, I find the top end Audi touching lower end 5 series, a car that is bigger and more spacious than A4.

What will be more interesting to see is that how Merc and BMW do to stay alive in competition.

I guess its time for BMW to come up with 335D and 335i when they bring in the mighty am sure it's gonna smoke the audi. With just a simple Remap 330d can do 290bhp and 635NM and can take 335d can go upto 345HP and 715NM of torque.

But No doubt Audi will have a better edge being 4wheel drive and with a remap 3.0tdi and one can get healthy 280-290BHP and 565NM of torque.
Now that's gonna be one hell of a ride.

BMW wont bring in the 535D unless they see substantial 530D sales compared to the 520D. 335i/330D/335D also seems very unlikely looking at the 325i sales compared to the 320i and 320D sales.

In India, 3 series entering/crossing the 5 series lineup and similarly the C entering the 5 series lineup is typically not accepted by the common buyer.

Past failures include the Audi 3.2 FSI and the slightly more powerful and sportier C class which was launched and disappeared very soon from the MB lineup.

BTW, how much does the Audi 3.0D cost over the 520D ?
