There are only three variants now, the SLE, VLX Manual and the VLX with the autobox.
Mahindra is very, very serious about the Xylo.

manson.
you forgot to mention the LX, even it comes with the mHawk engine.

Looks like SLE is same as VLS with ABS & LX without ABS.

LX is 9 seater.

Is it something like
3 + 3 + 3 ? (no captain seats at front !!)

It looks quite better than the old one. Although a 3D look will be more justified.

LX does have captain seats in front.

scorpio DOES NOT come with 3 seater arrangement (like in old sumos & qualis) for the front seats. i dont think its possible because of the gear lever & handbrake between the front seats.

by 9 seater, mahindra means, 2 bucket seats in font, bench seat for 3 in the middle & side facing non-bucket seats for 4 in the boot.

i think the variants would be like this:

LX- black bumpers + side cladding + power windows + power steering + AC
SLE - LX + body coloured bumpers & cladding + voice assist system + mood lighting + lights on footsteps etc. (like the CRDe SLX)
VLX - SLE + all the electronice gadgets that came with mHawk engine.

Really the tail lamp needs a rework. The present tail lamp makes the scorpio look like a "mighty masculine TOY" from the rear.

finally mahindra realized that the competition (read tata safari) offers the 2.2 engine on its base model LX as well whereas mahindras were only offering the mHawk on the pricey VLX & VLS. also, with the introduction of electric powered mirrors, they have done a great job. now only if they could offer airbags & 4x4 option.

sid, whats the pricing of the VLX non-micro hybrid?

they have beaten the safari in the price game too. the base model scorpio costs 20,000 less whereas the top end model costs 1.5 lakhs less. after the introduction of the xylo, mahindra is going great guns with their pricing.

micro hybrid is standard on VLX M/T.

non micro hybrid VLX is discontinued, as per the brochure.

owever, AFAIK, non micro hybrid VLX is Rs. 10,000 cheaper at Rs. 920000.

there may be many like me who dont care a damn about this silly 'micro hybrid' & still wanna opt for the VLX. what about them?

i feel mahindra will offer a non micro hybrid VLX. if they dont, they are foolish. prospective bolero customers & prospective scorpio customers think differently.

just checked out th website, the new prices are uploaded.

it seems that they are offering standard vlx as well.

it mentions vls bs-3 and vlx bs-4 with a 10,000 price difference.

i think that vlx bs-4 s the micro-hybrid model and vlx bs-3 is the standard non hybrid model.
