Do you think the marked change in the grill is spurred on by troubles with JEEP with the TM vertical slats and all. Since MM is pushing big in the US market they may have kept that in mind ?!

That's probably because the gearing is probably very different.
Even the old Gypsy MG410W used to do 0-100 in about 15 seconds with a 45 bhp engine!
Entirely a game of gearing!

Right! I also found mHawk (during TD) quicker than a CRDe 2.6.....Xylo (2.5L/112HP) has to be slower.

yes anup sir, i think the gearing mahindra has selected is more in the interests of fuel economy rather than outright acceleration.
now, which MUV user may want to play racer boy on our roads?!!!

but the roll on timing & driveability of the engine is very good. infact, like in the scorpio, you rarely need to downshift in this one. but i still think mHawk has an edge.

now will they plonk the mHawk engine into the xylo? i dont think so.

@ deep: what matters more is power to weight ratio. the xylo i feel maybe a bit lighter than the scorpio, i am not too sure though. still the scorpio feels much more peppier. so, in the engine department, scorpio still rules!!!

Some Pics!

I caught the new scorpio near the Dahisar Check naka today evening. Minimilistic changes to the vehicle. The front end looks nice. The rear is okay okay. I was surprised to see that Mahindra has still kept those huge reflectors They should have atleast put some lamps there. Hardly any changes in the interior. Didn't notice the gear box though.

The scorp got the bangle treatment!!

The curves on the bonnet/grille and lights show a hint of the bangle design on the 3 series bimmer.

Hi shatrughna, can you provide some details on Petes. Cost, effect on warranty, ease of installation etc. etc.

mHen? LOL!

But the rear was not the butchest in the older Scorpio. Its much improved now, and looks Butchest. Just my Opinion! :-)

The Scorpio still looks like an old hooker but with over the top make up, this time around. When will M & M give it up?.

OK here is my opinion

Good

1. integrated step in the rear bumper , Earlier one hinge of metal stepping use to break and hand oblique in 90% Scorpios.

2. Electrical OVRM ( if they are there) , I wonder why this was not there before.

Bad :

1. Scorpio engraved on platic cladding , This is going to be mud magnet and difficult to clean , Expect hard water marks in due course of time anyway.

2. Painted bumpers : At least give an option to have unpainted bumpers with rest of the gizmos intact.

Ugly :

1. Silver tooth Grill : Enough said already on why
2. Protruding plastic caps on wheel hubs , Is broken wheel cap replacement
a great source of revenue for Mahindra dealers ?
3. No Airbag on highest trip.

Wishlist for Mahindra
--------------------
1. Increase 6 inches of interior space and give some leg room.

2. Engage some one other then Lotus to design a proper suspension please.
Pepole can not keep on trying each new version with similar comments , yes it swings less then older one but still a boat.

3. Airbags please : Would you really wait till GOI wakes up and makes it a law.

I remember when I was small kid cars/scooters were with out indicators / Seat belts until Rajiv Gandhi found it horrifying and amended the law in 1987.
