This is actual face lift (Just work on the face, lift it up then put a chrome clip on it ). But bumper sure looks muscular in this pic.

Launch in March

Went to test ride the Xylo yesterday, the sales person confirm the launch in first week of march. They have stopped getting the 2.6 engine and the sales training is starting in next 15 days.

Anynews if they are going to modify the gearbox to have the full potential of 2.2 engine giving 140 bhp?

then can we have a 0-100 kph in 12.5 secs?

I'm a bit lost, Raj!
By the way, how much time does the current Scorpio mHawk take for 0-100 kmph?

autocar india says it takes 14.67 seconds, they are professionals and have great equipment to test the timings, like VBOX.

me being humble (!!!) did a self-test and managed it in 15.4 seconds, time noted by co-driver with a stopwatch in mobile!!!

Maybe the Autocar India timings were not through gears? You know how they deduct the time taken for shifts.
Anyway, strong case for you to want a 140 bhp motor!

ahem... not really, in real world conditions, there figures hardly matter! its the roll-on timings and the mHawk surpasses even some diesel sedans!

but still, more the merrier... ya ya ya, i know i am greedy!

Not even a fortnight since I posted the below in the Tata Indicruz thread and here we have Mahindra at their best (The Grill)

But the Bumper is pretty cool

I quite like the looks. Good to have a debate on why it's copied from the Innova.

But if we consider the Original designs of India over the past few years,
Xylo
Swift Dzire
Sumo Grande
Facelifted Scorpio, Bolero, Zen, M800, WagonR,
I think we are better of with copied/inspired designs

actually in one of the threads i read that the new auto box can handle 34kgm of torque.. so i was wondering mahindra along with the auto box give a bonus of 20 bhp to automatic customers..may increase sales imo.

You have to hand it over to M & M for retuning the suspension every year and making it better . Every time you will buy Scorpio there will be a fair idea as to how much more they can improve next year . There have been reports about M &M launcing a totally new SUV next year for global markets . Next year they will launch a '10 version of scorpio with an (im)proved suspension .

@ Raj- you still have option to improve the bhp and torque in CRDe and Mhawk versions by adding Petes. ( upto 170 bhp for Mhawk). Interested?

Raj Bhai, that means Xylo is quicker than mHawk!
All TD reports say, Xylo clocks 0-100 KM within 15 seconds.

@Anup Sir: Aap bhi thoda prakash daalen.

Cheers!!!

no buddy, TD reports suggest scorpio does 0-100 kph in 14.xx seconds & xylo in 15.xx seconds. so scorpio is faster.

more importantly, when i TD the xylo (i went there driving my mHawk), the difference i felt was huge. the engine was nowhere as responsive as the mHawk. it was a tad better than the innova but not as much as the scorpio, even the CRDe.
