I have voted for wait and watch. But that is to do with Vitamin M than anything else!

By the way, will they disclose the variants and their prices before the bookings start?

If this was around 5 years back, or if my life started 5 years later than it did, I would have bought this instead of M800.
So I voted No.

Booking + lottery = scope for people with confirmed allocation to sell their allocation at a premium price!

Guys, the best investment plan now!

Not me but my Dad will definitely be booking it. I have a 3 month old son. He fondly calls him "Nanu".
He keeps on telling to book the car as soon as it is out. Reason: He wants to settle in Pune and wants the "Nano" to take his "Nanu" to school.

I dont think there is a manual transmission available as far as I know. It comes in CVT I guess.

The booking for the Nano will be like it was for the 800. The fronty became rage way back then and people will flaunt their Nanos for the initial period after delivery for some time just like they did with the 800.

No, I am not buying one but if it has good FE from the diesel unit and decent reliability ( read from the Nano V2) it should be the perfect runabout for short grocery trips. But traffic will definately be at the mercy of the Nano once it hits the roads.

You mean, you don't think there is a automatic transmission available, isn't it?

Can we please title the thread:
"Who are bailing out Tata by giving downpayment for Nano?"

Nope you read me right. I think the Nano is being offered in AT/CVT only. There was no mention of a manual when the car was launched last year. 600 or 660cc diesel with CVT.

It wont come for me.
Frankly speaking , i am a performance oriented guy and 600cc is not my peice of cake.
If it had been on a bike, i would have considered but on a car . No chance.

I like mid and rear engined cars but its a no-no for me.

Dippy, the Nano will be launched with only a Manual transmission initially.

I'm not interested in the base, but if Tata does launch a top-variant (auto tranny, power everything, alloys, air-con etc.etc.) later on, I am willing to put my deposit down. Few cars would beat a well-spec'ed Nano as a local runabout.
