Good move by Ford, but I wish they had done this 3 months back when we had bought the ZXi.

Always happens to me. Whenevr I buy a car, the manufacturer either stops the model or brings in better changes. Happened to me with my Zen and now the Fiesta

Hey, please inform me before you buy another car. I can make a rethink, if me also plan to buy a car at that time...

what else does the 1.6 S have over zxi except

Leather
Spoiler
15" alloys?

How much discounts can be expected over 6.34 for a zxi?

wow..With additions such as these at no extra cost, I am struggling to think whether there is any other car that offers such VFM in this segment.

With driving pleasure to boot, it is a very attractive value proposition

You have every reason to feel bad and I guess it is difficult to reason on this point. Mp3 players/fog lamps are additional frills that have less 'value'

On ABS/EBD, you made a decision earlier on why u didn't need it. So what has changed, apart from the price decrease?

devarshi: The 1.6S also has airbags and comes with a music system (which I don't think is there in the ZXi).

i bought it 2 months back(during the discount period) but i don't feel so dejected..cause for 6.55L on road.. i got my own pioneer-jbl system, art leather seatings, fogs, alloys and new tyres.
ya ABS wasn't on my list then cause highway drive is very minimal for me.
it would be nice as additional stuff but im not whining.

Ariendj, just because you dont drive on the Highway does not mean you do not need ABS. After joining the forum, and reading all the posts from other members I have realised how important it is having ABS on your car.

Somehow it feels, the move by Ford has come a little late. Atleast in Hyderabad during the 1Lakh offer the dealers were saying close to 40-50 cars were booked but I doubt that. I have not noticed any huge ad's in the paper as well. And dont forget the news of the new Fiesta in 2010(right next year) could also be a deterent for people, whether it happens or not.

I found the front side of 1.6S and ZXI to be different looking. Is that true?

Devarshi: The Fiesta 1.6S does not come with leather seats. Leather seats are standard only on the 1.6SXi. The seats are more sporty & funky in the 1.6S and they do look good. Sathee46 on this forum in Chennai has a 1.6S and it looks fabulous. Saw and explored the car during a Chennai TBhp meet.

Lambo: Yes. Driver and front passenger airbags + ABS + EBD are standard in the 1.6 SXi and 1.6S, while the 1.6S also comes with a stiffer suspension setup for better handling. The 1.6S also comes with rear spoiler and side skirts, + 195 size 15-inch tyres. (195-60-15 I think)

Yup. They do look different. The 1.6S definitely looks more macho from the front.

Warm regards,
Venkat

@lamborghini
The new ZXi now comes with a 2DIN Mp3 player. Alloys, leather and airbags are missing though.

the S comes with 15 inch wheels - does it increase the GC?

I guess thats because of the bodykit that the 1.6S sports.

i know ABS are a required stuff for todays lifestyle driving but i have to say that i was justifying my personal end and im satisfied about my decision about buying the ZXi at a even lower price during the big discounts.

in fact with the body kit added now for 1.6S, could GC be more of a potential issue as compared to ZXi?
