hyundai seems to have lost its sheen in the face of stiff competition from more fancied rivals.

their dealers are demoralised and product range is unexciting.. They need to pull their socks and deliver..

I dont think the GVS has EVER come with a 1.6 engine. 1.6 was first available on the 'Tornado', then on the 'Viva' and is now standard on the GLS as well.

I stand corrected. Indeed, the GVS is in 1.5 spec only.

If you check the sales figures of Accent for last many months(from ACI or any magazine), you can see thant they almomst consistantly maintain the number two spot after Indigo.

Infact when launched in 1999, the Hyundai Accent came in three trims only: GLE 1, GLE 2 and GLS.

fellas,

1) accent looks dated in comparision to the competition here. that kills off half of its sales. and i seriously dont know how they want to grab the market with the horrendous looking new accent

2) in terms of performance the competition has the measure of it as well. the engines are just so lethargic.

3) I think till the time they get the new accent here....just sell the base version with the 1.6 litre petrol and the other versions with the great CRDI engine. the CRDI gives better FE and power and pick up than the petrol !

cheers

Putting 1.3 in Accent is as good as putting 2 bulls in front and driving !

I think the better strategy for Hyundai will be to reduce the price of CRDi engine and bring it to Sub 6 lakh category. Then it will sell like hot cakes beating Indigo and Ford Ikons out of shape..

saw the pictures of new accent in ACI,i think the new car looks stunning and is bigger, but the mechanicals are almost the same, they need to plonk in some new petrol engines.

even the existing 1.5 and 1.6 engines are so unexciting guess what a boring car will 1.3 engine make.
