Am sure they would come with 4X4 from launch, it would be a marketing folly to introduce an SUV premium to Scorpio without the 4X4 feature, an MUV like xylo need not have 4X4 but an SUV is not even seem to be an SUV without 4X4 as an option even if most people dont select the option.

Bulk of the *SUVs* sold in India are in 4x2 form except for the Pajero which doesn't have a 2WD option.

I think they are testing the new engine very hard with the new SUV.They might test this vehicle with fully assembled parts once the engine is okay

And the Fortuner, & the Captiva Automatic. Which dont have 4X2 versions. (Captiva Manual is 4X2).

Actually what I was getting at it that irrespective of what is sold the 4X4 option presense in the family is essential for being seen as a true SUV. Post which after considering the application the buyer ends up going in for a 4X2.

It seems some of the dealers have had a preview of the new SUV, but are unwilling to talk much about it (as instructed?). All I could gather was that there would be a primary launch in the US, followed by an Indian launch. Pricing is expected to be in the 14-16L. range. Mahindra dreams of making this the world's highest selling SUV.

+1 - they are under the impression that the Xylo is the best looking vehicle from them so far and they should take this as the base design for all future vehicles!

of course, cruise control, automatic AC & wiper, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc. can be expected. what i really wish to see is dual airbags & ABS with EBD. and of course, 4WD with LSD!

how about fully powered driver's seats, 6 speed auto transmission as option, xenon lights, hill descent control & traction control??!!! am i asking too much?
Buttt.... With electronic's supplied by Delphi ... Reliability leave's a very big "Q"... ABS/EBD/TCS would be std, AWD might be...YTBD

Looking forward to see your thread soon.

Mahindra should hire this guy SRK deisgns, this design is wonderfull, may be we at team-bhp should send it to Mahindra (if they have already not seen it) and hope that they can incorporate these changes in the SUV, this looks butch, macho and classy.
