The wheel base and length of the vehicle being tested is different from the launched Gio.

Yes, quite a dampener. I was really hoping it would something more exciting. I guess we just have to wait.

It doesnt look like an M&M car.

The rear lights are deceptive.
Look's like the upcoming Hyundai's ix-35

Who says Hyundai ix-35 is coming, to the best of my knowledge it is I 30 that they will launch (if they ever do) and that is just slightly bigger than the I 20. So it cant be a Hyundai

that comment wasn't for the vehicle shown and discussed till mow. It was for one news item of press invitation for a new product launch from Mahindra & Mahindra. Guesses were this SUV, but it turned out the launch was for Gio. Hence the comment.

If you would have noticed past 3-4 comments, could have got the reference. Anyhow, seems we might see this vehicle in auto expo (our guesses) or wait till Oct 10

Scoop: Unknown SUV

Mods: Please merge this post if there is an appropriate thread.

I spotted this SUV testing this morning near the Chennai Airport. I couldn't guess what SUV this would be and hence a new thread. Any guesses of what it could be ?

To me, It did not look like any Ford and a little different from the Santa Fe.

Please ignore the picture quality as it was raining.

right, it is Mahindras new global SUV as tushky said. Code named W 20.. some thing. Will be priced around 15 lakhs. Notice rear independent suspension. May be a monocoupe body. Looks massive and could be the size of a montero

I too feel its the SUV from Mahindra. The tail lights of the vehicle makes me think so. Looks like tail lights of the old scorpio. There is a already a thread running on this i guess.

Why are these cars camouflaged this way? doesn't it affect the aerodynamics while testing?!

Aerodynamics don't affect testing parameters too much. Its real world testing that they want to do.

The test that they want to do are for relaibility of various mechanical and electical bits on real roads. Aerodynamic testing is done in the wind tunnel - most indian manufacturers do not have this and do this in the wind tunnel with the designers.
