This happened outside my collage yesterday ,

Definitely a mahindra,

1) Had scorpio steering wheel, tail lamps , appart from that the center console was totally new !

2) Had rear AC vents on the B-pillar ! Something like the merc-E class ..

3) Had auto climate control !

4) Quality of plastics was bad , but this is pre-production unit , So cannot comment ..

5) Had center arm-rest, No 3rd row setes , Car was really wide and looked spacious .

The car hit a TVS-50 at high speed from the back , pillion rider injured very badly, the driver was pulled out and beaten up before police arrived !

Could not get very close to the car, cops all over the place.

now that is some 'unwanted' publicity for a good looking new car.

Dont know actually , there were no skid marks , so the wheels did not lock up ,, which can mean 2 things-

1) ABS

2) Driver dnt break hard enough :-( !

OR stoopid TVS-50!! Those things are a designated hazard in this part of the world! Most people will be shocked with what they put a poor TVS-50 thru in TN!

Thats a bad start to things. The wheels do look big, and the interiors aren't bad either. Lets hope the cheap plastics and odd rear end don't make it to the production line for this one!

Feel bad for the bloke on the TVS-50 but he courageously threw himself in the front of this giant SUV to confirm to auto fans that this is indeed a Mahindra. We should for ever be greatful to the two brave souls on that TVS-50. If not for them, we wouldn't have got the second set of pics to confirm the origins of this prototype..

Who knows, maybe it was a brake failure! These cars are very crude prototypes and in developed countries they usually drive only in proving grounds till the final prototype stage for safety. This thing is not even homologated

Notice that the car is not wearing a front bumper or fascia which would protect pedestrians with its soft surfaces. Instead it has sharp pipes sticking out like a weapon.

Poor TVS guy, got hit by a prototype! Guess the TVS's are a constant hazard anywhere in TN.

Impressive find again. Nice looks. Nice Photoshop job.

I guess, Mahindra is getting ready for competing with Fortuner and other biggies in that space (Captiva, CRV, Endeavour etc)

Due recognition to those courageous people who did their best for us to see the car, even if it meant to play with their lives.

Mahindra guys would be observing this thread now for sure.
