Due to the extreme flak Mahindra is going to recieve for this advt, they will surely dump/shelve it like they dumped Xylo's "End of Sedans" advt.

just compare this with the Safari ad, Shows things which you will not forget (getaways) no matter how many high profile meetings you attend.

That ad hits a chord. It makes u understand that with safari u can fulfill your these dreams of going to such places. Reclaim your life.

It shows its upto you to reclaim your life, safari is just an add on to help you do it. The bigger thing is you yourself.

The campaign "Mighty muscular" doesnt let me understand what are they talking about, as someone has said, if it is mighty muscular, why does he needs two cars and two bikes as an escort. He should make his own road.

MnM come up with a better ad for Scorpio, the vehicle is good, let the ad strike proper balance of the vehicle delivering on ppls dreams.

From when do escorts start driving Honda Civics? If I was a "Mighty Muscular VIP" being followed by my Security in two black cars, I would prefer that they don't drive Honda Civics? Maybe a Dodge Challenger RT/8 or Ford Crown Victoria. This ad agency needs to go...

Looking at the interiors it seems M&M is again going the xylo way i. e. Inside out , interiors first and then exteriors

Well, I do not like the ad too. but its effective.A friend of mine who had decided on an indigoXL switched to Xylo at the last moment.Makes sense too as Xylo gives much more space;his main requirement, than any sedan for similar money .He changed his mind as soon as he sat in the captains seats.

Good product sells...despite bad ads.
(the xylo may not be good for driving but to be driven in its really good)

I think the song "Pappu can't dance", is an apt description of the new Scorpio, what with the muscular and popular bit!

The new Scorpio ad is pretty pansy. God knows which ad agency has mahindra contracted. Infact all the previous ads have european people who are driving aroung with helicoptors following them. This time its two sedans.

Mahindra's has more Butch vehicles in its stable than any indian manufacturer. God knows we would have all enjoyed just the Scorpio kicking up dust in the desert rather than a woman in a red dress and 6 bouncers in suits.

You guys should have a look at how the ad is described on the other forums. People are gushing all over it. They love the muscularity. They love the SUV'ishness. They also love the ad, because which Indian wouldnt like to be driven around in an SUV with escorts all around him, play a round of golf in the desert with a girl to boot. And not to forget our infatuation with White skin. They're playing on the psyche of the nouveau rich "political" class or those associated with that class - either in mind, body or soul. And I think that will work. Unfortunately for the rest of us who dont think that way, we will either still buy this heap of metal or the other thats called the Safari.

i think this will compete with the indicruz!! its not an muv but a more mordern. crossover. (the body will look closer to outlander, CRV etc). some good stuff to look forward too.

i think that accident was very sad. hope the guy who went down is okay.
there should be responsible driving even if you are testing a car. maybe they were being followed. maybe the driver panicked? anyways its sad. :(

The same idiots who came up with the name Xylo. Sounds like some furry cartoon character that 8 year olds love.

Dont think so mate, The only SUV I can think of coming to India from the Toyata stables is the Fortuner, and this is very much a tried and tested car, not warranting the intense testing of this disguised car.
The wheel rims are too vague a component to decide on who the maker is.

Bottom line. The Ads seem to be working & connecting with their intended buyers.

3200 Scorpios & 3180 xylos sold in March 09. And xylo has a waiting period of 2- 3 months now.

We can keep grumbling about the ads & ad agencies, while M & M will be laughing all the way to the bank.
