OMG !! Who ever has done the design should hang himself !! Its totally spoiled.
A camel hunch on rear door ?
Rear looks as if they drilled a hole to install the washer wiper and covered it with a piece of metal.
Lookwise its a big disappointment .M&M has done it again. Xylo,new bolero and this.I think they are good in box designs only.
Interiors look fab in the pics .
Now it all boils down to drive and handling.

XUV is best looker when masked.

Looks like, Front was designed gracefully by a senior who left and then a trainee took over and tried his hand with the grill and something under the head light. The side looks like designed by a hierarchy of depressed employees and the rear center bubble by a marketing guy.

Interiors once of the best on any Indian vehicle so far. I wonder is it really so difficult for people in this profession to design good looking vehicles?

Friends lets not write it off so soon just because of the design.

M&M is no Toyota/Hyundai/Chevrolet and M&M know it well. Even though they may have claimed to benchmark it with the international manufacturer's products, the XUV500 will be clearly aimed at people who aspire to own a Sante Fe/Captiva but cannot afford to.

So the pricing is the key.

Also, let us always remember that members of Team-BHP are at the top end of the Indian automobile buyers in terms of their understanding. The masses don't understand technology, build quality. They understand road presence and pricing. That is why Indica still sells.

As far as core product is concerned, most of the new features are available as sub-assemblies from international component manufacturers and Tata/M&M usually load their vehicles with them. The key qualities like better engine, long lasting gearbox are places where Indian manufacturers are unwilling to invest.

Lets hope the M&M gets pricing right. It would be good to see a desi product in the segment. Would be a positive step forward.

Gosh ! Party spoiled ! I just cant make out whats done on the front bumpers & makes me feel YUCK ! I guess the only color I might be interested will be black so that nothing projects out in the front !

Interiors do look plusher than Aria to me - saving grace ! Now M&M, please screw up the pricing so that I can strike this off my list [I am still inclined to this a bit] !

A crude photoshop work by me- just to show that they had got a design which was fundamentally very well proportioned, sharp and sleek. Only if they had curbed some over-enthusiasm when were working on the detailing...

The front bumper looks very REAL in this picture. Hopefully, some accessories maker is watching this space, to come up with a KIT.
