car looked nice. The back glass looks very outlander ish! .
Why do I never get to sight any of these! The car looks good in the flesh. I feel that it might just do decent numbers, purely because of the Honda badge.

It should reflect in the ex-showroom price.

Actually, it is levied even higher in the chain, as excise is levied on production. So, it should be reflected in the ex-factory price as well.

From the pic at the site it seems we have jazz coming without alloys.
So expect it to be like the ANHC only.Premium price but not optimum features.

Well at this pricing the least they could have given alloys, though there are other interior features. Lets wait for the launch. 10th June, we are waiting Honda

Honda may be the master of engines but surely not VFM still when we have so many features studded super hatches already launched and due to be launched soon at much lesser price tag than what Honda cars carry. But still I hope and wish the best to their new venture. Eventually personally I see it still helpful for them to launch their newer models and extend their offerings lineup as more cars = more employment = more capital = more infra = more manufacturing = more growth rate

Well, Autocar clearly mentions that there will be no alloys for India and no Diesel engine option either in the near future. I think GP or Ritz would have best opportunity to be market leaders, more so for GP because it seems bigger and better designed visually - but Fiat might just mess it up with their pathetic A.S.S.

As for Honda Jazz, in pics it is looking more like a station-wagon style, similar to Fusion, marina, but far more attractive. It's overpriced to say the least; but then Honda does get away with that quite often! :(

Fair enough that Japanese manufacturers such as Toyota and Honda have cited rising yen as the reason for the increase in prices. This was definitely the case till Jan 2009. Since then, the yen has fallen significantly. 1 yen fetched Rs. 0.3934 in 8/2008 but Rs. 0.5404 in 1/2009. By 4/2009, 1 yen fetched Rs. 0.5096. What this means:

Suppose a high priced Japanese car imports parts of 100,000 yen. That means costs went up by Rs. 14,700 for each 1 lakh of yen parts imports from 8/2008-1/2009. However, they went down by Rs. 3,100 per 1 lakh yen parts imports between 2/2009-4/2009. For a Rs. 10-15 lakh Japanese car, the savings could be greater than Rs. 10,000. Will they now pass on this saving also, or keep quite about it, or say they absorbed the earlier cost increase, and so will now not pass on the cost decrease.

Has Honda preponed the launch to 20 May? Looks like Fiat is making Honda change their strategy!

I dont think so. I happened to visit the Honda India website today and there registered myself for a test drive of Honda Jazz (there is a section there for Test drive registration). Within an hour's time I got a phone call from Dakshin Honda (probably to verify if I was a genuine enquirer). I asked him about the launch date and he said june 29th in Delhi and I could have the test drive on 29th June only

So curious to know whats in store in 8 days time?

Launch is on early june. Watch this space for something else...which will be unwrapped.

EDIT: some people say that the car is not so good...

EDIT: wait till tomorrow, maybe something will blow out of the pressure cooker.
