spy pics of jazz have surfaced on march's ACI stating that it will come with a 1.2 90 ps i-vtec engine.

also, there are some inside reports of ANHC getting better quality interior materials this year end and a talk of enhancing the ANHC (refreshment) every year. (stated in autocar india's confidential column)

Lots of folks including me have been cribbing about the pricing, the low quality of the interiors, poor equipment level and the resulting poor overall value at the price, imho overpriced by about 50k.

However seeing the sheer number of City's on the road in this poor economic climate all this criticism becomes somewhat irrelevant, the ultimate test is the market and they have given a big thumbs up and Honda marketing should be patting themselves on the back.

These folks can only respond to the market and had the market not responded so enthusiastically then maybe Honda would have reason to reconsider their pricing but now thanks to the relative success of the City they stand vindicated and our criticism while valid perhaps not the best marketing advice.

Had been to Honda showroom y'day. When i met the sales in charge he had the Jazz brochure with him. I just had a look, it didnt mention anything about the engine, it only mentioned about the awards it has won worldwide. The sales in charge did mention May-June launch. So seems like Jazz launch is on track!

I was reveiwing the Honda Jazz vs Suzuki Swift vs Hyundai i20 fight in the markets where all these are available (UK for instance) and the Jazz consistently comes out tops for its space, quality, practicality and reliability attributes. As always looks are subjective (I like them). Interiors seem to be well made and functional.
What are other members' guestimates for its pricing. Looking at the premium pricing for the City, I wouldnt be surprised to see prices starting around 7 lakhs.

Jazz offers the interior space simillar to the City. It will have 400 litr boot as against 500 ltrs of City but Jazz will have the flexibility of folding seats etc. If made availble with the same 1.5 L engine, they will probably be pricing it close to city, may be 80k to a lakh less at the most. But the base version with 1.2 L engine may start with around 6.5 lakhs ex-showroom.

If Jazz is going to cost around Rs. 7 - 7.5 lacs OTR, then the current offer price on 2008 NHC gxi @ RS. 7.35 OTR is an absolute steal! IMO, the offer is real good.
