Sen the review of Jazz at the car & bike show on TV.

1.2 L for sure.

Looks good from both outside & inside.

steering wheel is just civic like.

Interestingly price was not mentioned in the detailed review.

Well I am not sure about the channel, I just saw it while surfing.

Someone named Mr.Hormzad was the car expert there.

Any way, all the Car show is almost similar, they will never say a car is not good.

thanks inferno. Nice link.

Interestingly the Jazz can do a 0-100 in 12.5 seconds. By Indian standards it can beat quite a few sedans in a drag then. Not weak by any stretch of imagination!

Must be UTV. He is also the editor for ACI. I agree, Indian car cannot be so much different. ACI reports always give a very good insights in to the car.

Mr.Hormzad was talking about Indian version, not the UK version.

1.2 ltr petrol engine, i forgot the BHP.

interiors are blackish.

from inner side, looks like a big car, with good rear sitting space.

Just like steering wheel, dash board is also civicish.

The UK specced Jazz is reviewed in this month's ACI.

The jist of the review is:

1. The 1.2 engine should be the best of the current lot of 1-1.2l engines present in any car. So, performance is definitely better than the current lot of oversized-underpowered cars.

2. The interiors look good. ACI talks about some parts not being of good quality.

3. The boot is 399 liters. I was amazed at this first, but later on during the review, found out that Honda UK does not offer spare tire, but offers puncture repair kit instead. Hence this huge space. I doubt whether Honda India does the same thing. However, I still think boot space is impressive.

4. Lots of storage options.

5. A combination of soft suspension and light steering spoils all the fun of handling. ACI says that even with stiffened suspension package for India, it has its reservations about the car being dynamically comparable to the Polo, Fabia (current benchmark according to them) and Grande Punto.

6. ACI quotes starting price to be around 6l.

6l for jazz for mere look & feel and premuim on brand value. I think I would rather stick to Punto with that multijet power behind their hood. Also at 6l price Hyundai i20 should not be far behind with all those features plonked on that hot hatch.

Would be interesting to see how Jazz compares in terms of interior space to the couldn't succeed Ford Fusion.

I dont have exact dimensions but Fusion should be much more spacious then Jazz. A magazine had done a comparision between NHC and Fusion and Fusion was found to be more spacious.

Engineering wise, Jazz is much the same as ANHC. According to me, it must and would be priced as much, except for 1.2L engine being cheaper due to savings in cost for smaller engine as well as Excise duty. Just because its a hatch we cant expect miraculously cheaper pricing, its a premium hatch in the true sense under Indian categorization much like Fabia, I20 etc., than cars like Swift, Getz and others. A Jazz thats similarly specced as ANHC won't be remarkably cheaper than ANHC IMO. The other upcoming hatches like Suzuki Ritz, Fiat Grande Punto looks more to compete with Swift, Jazz looks like its in a segment higher than these.

Grand Punto should be a higher segment, at least going by the dimensions(if I am not mistaken it measures over 4.2 meters in length. Fusion and Jazz are around 4 meter just to give a comparision)
