I saw the word "Depreciation".

It was something like "Depreciation is just one part" or something similar.

And I don't think its a Wagon or Hatch because the rear pic was shown.

May be a new Engine?
You are right. Saw the hoarding in bandra on my way to office this morning.
It shows the rear half of the Jetta with the words Depreciation is just one part. Below it says Coming soon.
I think this is more a sort of finance scheme that VW is coming up rather than a new model

Those offers have been advertised for a while. Low interest rate and 3 year maintenance plan free until this month end.

I missed the hoarding this morning, will check it out on my way back from work this evening.

VW can gain success on the Jetta only if they let go of the Laura or position the Jetta differently.

VW = VW + Audi + Skoda

even though jetta and the laura is the same platform they are giving the jetta priority.
Skoda is a part of VW, as is Audi. The brand hierarchy - i.e. price, state of tune, level of equipment etc. is as follows

1. Audi
2. VW
3. Skoda.

All the three brands share the same platforms and other basic building blocks. Skoda and Audi were independent manufacturers that VW bought. VW decided to keep and use all the three brands. Skoda is positioned as a 'mass' brand for fleet sales etc., look at it as a bargain basement Audi/VW with features and equipment to match.

Cheers,

if it is the rear side of the jetta, then it cannot be any hatch, maybe a tuned version of the jetta, like a Jetta sports or so?

if they are trying to compete it with linea or honda city, they need to keep the prices competitive.

VW must be the biggest non event in Indian Auto inspite of some stupid awards like Best Executice Car of Year whatever it stands for they have failed to make a mark and it is very rare to find them on byuers list of options . Hope they come out of it soon

I owned a jetta from 99 to 03 when i was in US.. it was the new version that they released in 99 and it became quite a hit. that time i had paid $20K... so about 10L.. that should be the price here too... it was one sweet car. looked quite similar to the skoda octavia.. in almost 4 years i had driven about 75K miles and still looked new when i sold.
would like to own it but for the price :-(

Whatever the car it will be, but if VW wants to be successful, they have to price it well.

Otherwise like Jetta & Passat it will be a one more failure from them.

But why would they show half of Jetta if they are going to launch the Golf or Polo? As far as i know the next confirmed launch by VW is the Passat CC.
