sigh.
Since we're dreaming, give me a Polo GTI. Its expected to have the 1.4 TSI (this one is both supercharged and turbocharged) putting out somewhere around 160bhp. Drool!!

VW should do just a limited run of these. The engines can be complete imports while the rest of the car is made in India. Should keep costs down, while tremendously boosting the street-cred of VW in the country (think what Honda achieved 10 years ago with the OHC 1.5 VTEC).

I'd happily pay 10L for the 1.2 TSI Polo, and 12.5L for the 1.4 TSI Polo GTI.

Guys, according to the UK web site, the polo is 3970mm in length, it would would meet the duty exemption parameters with the 1.2, without any modification to the bumpers/body!!

Drool drool. I'd pay 10l for this if it has the right engine.

WOW.
Thats some pic mclaren!
Not 10l(am kinda poor you see but yes 8L is justified for this drool machine!)

I hate silver color as imo it makes a good looking car dull(no offence to anyone) but this is an exception.

This one has the 17" customized wheels as shown in the UK site, hence it looks quite impressive. Also listed in there is a 1.4L 7 speed automatic DSG engine, wonder if both of them will make to India

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I had seen the Polo in Bhosari area of Pune. Couldnt take pics as I was on a bike heading the opposite way.

Its really looks amazing with perfect body lines. Heard this comes with 1.2L petrol & 1.4L diesel. VW should concern and price it aggressively.

Will be considering this one if it comes with A/T. Overall the hatch looks good and should be a real competitor for other hatchbacks if it comes with the right engine.

I see today that Beetle and Toureg are announced to be launched within a week.

I'm begining to believe that the Polo is something we just dreamt of. If they really are going to sell it here, what ever is their problem? Why don't they just launch it?

They dont want their volume raker to go wrong. So i hope they are putting in a solid A.S.S and tying everything up to ensure a hassle free ownership experience.

Say amen!

Pricing has to be in the i20 category else you can see it go the Fabia way! Only drool no sales!

There is the small matter of actually manufacturing it.

Toureg and Beetle are imports while Polo is going to be manufactured in India. So they will launch it when they are ready to start full production, and also are ready with the infrastructure to sell and support it.

I don't think the cost of the Fabia will be reduced any further. Although I think it would be amazing if they do reduce the price and put a powerful engine in the Polo and price it a little more than i20.
