Any idea on the pricing of the Dynamic pack MJD?
Need to get my finances right before I take the plunge.

I guess someone has already asked this question: Is it going to be a 75 bhp 1.3 litre engine or the 86 bhp one (VGT)?

WHy cant FIAT india guys come and say that the offcial Launch period will be this or that. They did the same with linea and now they seem to be playing the same card again. they are dependent on what others release first and depending on the situation release theirs. i gues they dont have so good marketing or a PR team.

Till the time it is launched or we have some thing concrete, I think there is no point fuelling our imaginations.

Punto launch in Q3, which rules out June launch.

Rajeev Kapoor's quote from press release
Quote:
The Punto is planned to be launched in the third quarter of this year, he said.

"Plans are on track for the Punto and we plan to launch it in Q3 this year," Kapoor said.

I believe Fiat had said that the GP is production ready but they want to give a gap of 6 months between the Linea and GP which means the GP should be out by June-July, but

from the link posted above, it seems like Fiat wants to increase localisation in the car before launching it. Seems like they factored in the localisation content they would achieve in the future while pricing the Linea and they don't want to do that with the GP. The pushing forward of the GP launch to Q3 seems like a business decision. I think that's fair. And I also know that some of you may not agree with that line of thinking .

Big Query.

With so much info regarding the specs, price, color, options, variant and tentative launch date (insider info) floating around, where does Rajeev Kapoor's quote stand?

I guess from day 1, it has been the on the Fiat official press release that GP would be launched in Q3-09.Seems like the MD is sticking to the lines.

Personally, with the Jazz and the i20 diesel almost out, waiting a few more months would kill the product.Fiat has to act now or it will be too late;at least going by the brand value of Honda and Hyundai.

They might have wanted Q3 launch, but nothing wakes them up like competition. With Ritz and Jazz lined up in may/June, I think GP will be here soon. Most buyers are the ones who have been waiting for exciting offering in that segment. Such as myself, I am in market for almost last 3-4 months, didn't like i20 as a package for its price, didn't like Swift's interior and absolutely hated its long waiting period for diesel model. Vista looks like Indic(ab) and so I am hoping that Ritz or Punto will be be the car for me. Not hoping much from Jazz given the premium Honda charges on its slightly better quality cars.
