The ZXI now comes with ABS. Why dont you give that a try ?

ABS is not a luxury item like Alloys, nor is it a bare necessity. Its just that ABS helps braking. Rest everything depends on luck

Hi Udit.
Dude You've got the right question at the wrong place. I guess the Mod's need to move this to the 'What Car' section. And may I suggest you to search for the braking issue in any of the numerous long term review threads posted in the same section. Hope that solves your problem.Cheers.

why are you buying a 2008 Fiesta Exi now at 6.9L? Considering its from last year, you should get substantial discounts on that. I would any day go for the Zxi for about 30K more. You get a 2009 model, ABS and 2 DIN Mp3 player which is more than worth the money.

Udit,
ABS is a very important feature in a car, when you look at the safety department. The probability of accidents are reduced when you have ABS. If you have the habit of redlining your car, then ABS is very important. Infact, find out what ABS does to your car in this forum, then you would pretty much be able to decide for yourself.
Why go for a 2008 car anyways, when at a marginal difference you get a better version of the same car with more features?

BTW, this is not the right section for this post/thread.

Hey ABS is more useful for highway driving.

For city driving it is ok to live without.

But for 6.9 L, a 2008 EXI si a day time robbery.

Negotiate hard, other wise go for a 2009 car.

Udit, to your specific question to "whether ABS is required for Fiesta", i assume you are asking about the effectiveness of the Fiesta brakes.

I have a diesel ZXi (without ABS), and I found the brakes to be good, and the braking stability to be superb.
ABS will be helpful in hard braking scenarios, where the wheels will not lock up and thereby you can retain car control. Its a good feature to have, so invest 30k more and get the ZXi. Also if you are taking 2008 models, you can bargain and get upto 50k discounts or more.
