Amazing pictures, Once again Nano will Flashing in the Auto magazines in the Europe. Good car for this recession time. Only concern is time to market. Tata takes more time to deliver any new product.

The Nano Europa looks beautiful. Great move by Tata for coming out with this one. The Europa shows the potential of the Nano small car. The Nano can sell in two different segments. It can be a mode of basic transportation for those looking to upgrade from a bike at the 1 lakh price and the Europa based model can cater to the buyers who are looking for something in the Alto, Spark and Estilo range. Price this loaded model with frills with a diesel engine and maybe AT as an option at 3.2 lakhs, Tata has a winner here. It is the perfect car to go around our crowded cities and park in the smallest of places. Much better to drive this then our three box sedan in bumper to bumper traffic.

P.S Those alloys look great. Get ready to see alot of pimped up Nanos in the future.

Well done Tata

Looking at the fit and finish of the Europa and also the make of the tires (Pirelli)I have a suspicion that the Europas featured on these pages were assembled somewhere in the West. However if the Nano is launched in this garb here in India with the level of finish as shown in Geneva (look at the shut lines, the flow of the panels and the gaps or rather the lack of these) along with a peppy motor I am reasonably sure that Tatas will be pleasantly surprised with the demand that it will generate. A lot many PYTs will love to use this car as their runabout for college-going, mall hopping, disc frequenting etc.

Wow!

The finish is amazing and the product really looks like something you would WANT.

My Smart for2 which we lived with for a year was quite impractical in many ways - this is the practical version, even at about 2.5 lakhs it would be 1/4th the price!

Looks better, too - it doesnt end abruptly like the Smartie.

They have a winner on their hands - now if only they would get it out in good time because NOW is the time for a product such as this, not just here in India but also in Europe. Check out the comments on the Nano facebook page and here's a sample (very over-the-top reaction) for us to see the level of interest in this vehicle abroad:

This morning I received a message from Tata motors although the message appears to me empty but the subject says Tata Nano to be launched March 23.I don't if it was an info to let me know Tata Nano will be launched in Nigeria. You won't believe that every part of the house is filled with tata Nano pictures. So we wake up gazing at Tata Nano.I wish to let Tata know that every member of my family talk Tata Nano, we sleep Tata Nano, we think Tata Nano and we eat Tata Nano.. So eagerly we await with much enthusiasm Tata Nano to be on sale in Nigeria. We won't buy any other car except Tata Nano. Long live Tata Family, Tata Nano motors etc. Cheers, Win

2 things I didnt like about the Europa. That shade of yellow..old as the hills. Check out some of the colours used in the latest cars like Fiesta etc.

That headlight looks goofy..should have used clear lens with projectors for the concept car.

For some reason whenever i read about or look at this car, it evokes a feeling similar to what you would feel when you hear the national anthem.
I like it.

Tata should do the best they can to make the nano one of the best engineered product with a value for money proposition.

I hope the diesel joins the petrol nano as soon as possible.

Nano Deluxe/Europa by 2012

Excerpts from the article:

The deluxe Nano would not only have a more powerful engine at its heart, but would also sport comfort and safety features like power steering, air bags and ABS.

"Yes, there is a chance of Tata Motors launching the Nano Europa in the Indian market as well," Tata Motors' India operations MD PM Telang told TOI.

Tata Motors has said that the Europa will have a wheelbase longer than the existing Nano and will have redesigned interiors. Also, the car will be powered by a 3-cylinder sporty all-aluminium MPFI engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission

Exactly my thoughts too; but, if you see, these may not be introduced by 2012 at all. Might take sometime.

All in all, the 3 cylinder, aluminum engine, automatic transmission, sporty (what sporty? some decals?) sounds really cool. But with this configuration, it may not be possible to keep the prices under a Lakh. May be it extends nearly to 2L. But as customers, we'll find a good value to see an automatic priced under 2L.
