Lots of borrowed design elements. While the rear three-quarter is pleasing to the eye, the front end treatment is horrible!

While the concepts do look ok, its frustrating that the production designs dont carry over that flair.

IMO, the car looks great! tata needs this kind of new modern styling to appeal to other markets. Hope the interiors are also up to notch!

I guess we all remember Magna. That car was also being tested before being called off. First of all, Tata has many quality issues that have to be solved in the first place rather than ending with a new car that will again face quality issues along with A.S & S.

And to me the car looks like they have made changes to XF sedan and added bits from the latest generation Peugeot range. The originality is not visible in this design.

They must make this car in Rs. 10 lakh range to fight out with Civic and Corolla. They will diesels from Fiat and their newer generation of diesel mills are rumored to be better than than the present gen mills. Quite a strong product is possible out of this design, but if Tata decides to spend some money on engineering and qualtiy.

The car looks really attractive (from outside).

Bravo TATA, for having such a good looking car.

The front looks like a bit of Indica Vista.

Huge 2.7 m wheelbase ensures enormous room in the car.

Sloppy rear bonnet(coupe like?) might compromise the rear headroom.

The boot from out side seems to be very smaller (look like an expanded hatch).

Please TATA, come out of your image.

Give solid built, good interiors, remove all the niggling issues & above all, please bring it India with a good engine (Best is not expected) (please dont put fiat 1.3 MJD-the universal engine of India again).

After Vista this is the car which can revolutionize the TATA's Image in Indian car market.

While I'm pretty sure this vehicle will not see daylight for quite some time, it is quite amusing to see how people are more interested to point out design cues from other vehicles rather than rate this vehicle on its own.

This is a concept designed by Pininfarina, a reputed design house who have more at stake in the design business than Tata has. While an all-new, ground-up design that is free of ANY design cues used in any other product around the world MAY be possible, the question is whether the client is willing to take a risk with such a design or even pay for the effort involved in the same. Therefore it is not entirely unexpected that some design elements seen elsewhere may be apparent in this vehicle. In any case, VERY few vehicles today look totally new in this segment of 'value' sedans. Unless its French, of course - and we know their designs are on either extreme.

Yes it does look Peugot-ish(front-on), Maserati-ish (grille), Jaguar-ish, Opel-ish. However as a vehicle (and not as parts) it does manage to look pretty decent.

The pity is that we will NEVER get to see lines (shut or otherwise) this perfect in any of their production vehicles unless they stop building to a price. The other issue is that the market now EXPECTS them to build to a price and deliver at an even lower price. They need a re-positioning and IMHO the only way they an reposition is to take a hit on their margins and build quality into the priceband they are in. Once they have built up a reputation for quality I am sure they can slowly increase their prices to more realistic levels and nobody will actually complain.

Both the nano europa and pirma look cool

Another thing that impresses me about Tata cars are the choice of names:
1) Indica
2) Indigo
3) Xenon
4) Nano
5) Prima
6) Elangate
7) Nano Europa

all sound original and kinda cool ;-)

Yet another concept from Tata.. wonder if this will ever see daylight the way Pinnafarina meant it to be or will it go the tata way (read all the cheap interiors, stupid engines etc.)
But for sure it looks neat.
