another POS, a huge disappointment from pininfarina.

side design greenhouse is a blatent copy of opel insignia

front looks like a copy between jag XK and mazda 6 or even the chevrolet malibu without the band and rear is a fusion between opel insignia and jag XF.

what tata needs is to refine and tighten the quality of its existing models and not to waste money in designing the concepts which may never make it to production.

if this is what tata calls a luxury sedan, it is doomed. remember the magna or recently, the fate of indigo XL?

I think there's some attempt to create a "family look" across stables. A couple of iterations will see it come together, perhaps.

Not just the Jag, this looks like a copy of the Ferrari too, with the front resembling the 612 Scaglietti.

The devil is in the details. If you squint your eye, this looks good enough. But with eyes wide open, it is a different story.

...On the other hand, why am I even commenting? This is a concept, that too from Tata...

Thats why the grill looked so familiar! It's been been bugging me ever since I saw the pictures.

The X - over is the Crossover that we've been seeing spy pics off over the last few months. The Elegante has evolved into the Vista Sedan.

The cliffhanger was a xover derived concept!

Well, nice design I must say.
Can this be one of the test mules spotted sometime back by fellow team-bhpian? That test mule looks similar to the one spoken here and looked bit different than new vista-based indigo. That test mule looked smaller in height and length wise bit longer as compared to indigo. I aint able to trace that thread where you could see a test driver standing next to car, and the car seemed bit shorter in height similar to Prima.

Looks like tata is working on two sedan's, one based on vista design(tall body) and the other being this one. Afterall you never know Prima may be targetted for >8L range with multiple engine variations mentioned by sindica sometime earlier.

Now thats what I call a 'khichdi'. Take a closer look at each part individually:
Front end: Jag XF
Headlamps: Infinity 370Z +new Porsche 911 LED indicators
Sideprofile:X6 + CLS
Tailamps: new 7 series
Rear bumper: X6
Boot lid: Jag XF

This car is an intelligent fusion of Jag and tata faces. But will we ever see it in production is anybody's guess.

I think it is called Cliff Rider - Looking at the current state of affairs, Cliff Rider may take a couple of years. The reason - It could be offered as a premium pickup on top of xenon and that can only happen if xenon becomes a success. Otherwise cliff rider is basically for overseas market, I think.

I think tata is trying to buy some visiblity in the international scene. Otherwise this vehicle has no relevance. What this car can do for tata, it can already do better with Jaguar, and it wont be of much relevance back home either

Is this, by any chance, based on the Indica Vista platform?

From a product positioning stand point one thing is certain - TATA needs a Premium Sedan. But I don't think this is the one, though some parts of it are .

To compete with Civic,Corolla,Skoda, etc. at the 9 Lakhs to 14 lakhs range TATA needs to bring a new car, especially one that is not named indigo. My gut feeling tells me that they are going to re-design some old/concept Jaguar and this design - the prima is right on track but I am not sure people will go for it in the current form. TATA may also want to acknowledge that not all their cars need a boring grille

Barring the headlight and grille lines which reminded me of a Peugeot (208 may be), the rest of the car is just so fine to look at.
