Kudos to Tata for achieving this feat.

this will trigger demand for 2nd city car in most metros.
get ready for chaos and fighting for parking space near your house.
specially in lanes of delhi where even now it is bumper to bumper parking.

Govt. should pass a law in delhi to force people to build basement parking
for each house.

Now only if Tata can come up with battery driven variant, that will be
hugely popular.

Ask mother-in-law to get-off, load the luggage, drive away.
Seriously, though, it is Rear-engined. Wink Wink!

Think about the roads Harry! I just wish these are small enough to fit in our pot-holes...

If Tata Motors had joined hands with (or straight-out Acquired) Royal-Enfield, bikers would be in a win-won situation.
Look at this:
Available for R&D:
350cc, 500cc, 535cc Petrol Engines.
~600cc Diesel.
With enough power and torque to pull the Nano.(Ok, maybe not the diesel.)
When developed, the engine could've served both, the car as well as the bike.
(Imagine.Nano's exhaust going"potato-potato". Could be fun!)
Brakes are Drums all around.
The wheels... could be shared. A compromise at 15", say? Just kidding.
FE: Could remain the same, or get better?

Lets call a spade a spade. That is one hideous car. I'll say the ugliest car I have seen. It should not have graced the same planet as the Jaguar E-type, the GTO. And Aishwarya Rai.
In "Sunshine Yellow"??
The horror. .
Gives me jitters to think it will be sold in the millions.
Anything, though, to keep the family of five (or seven) from the two-wheeled contraptions they call a "bike" (CD100 & Co.)

ha ha, the central exhaust dia is so small it looks like a gun is pointing out the back of the car. other than that it looks surprisingly good. what's with tata's obsession with those rear lamp clusters - do they have to be vertically stacked in all its cars?

GOVT Should not also allow a Multi storeyd Commercial place with out any Parking... In Bangalore you can see Lots of Building is build up with out one inch of Parking. Ultimately Police get paid for allowing the car to make parking and While travelling on the road we burnt more fuel due to happazard parking.

Was on Marine drive close to 2am last night saw 5 Nanos zip past towards their launch location. Must say they looked pretty good for the price, the metallic color paint finish was gleeming at night!

Will the Nano have any cooling issues-looking at the amount of venting at the back?

Hmmm.. Better heat dissipation and ventilation.
It's a welcome addition.

Another day to go. Wow! History going to be rewritten.

Almost everybody I know in my immediate family and friends are waiting with full anticipation.

Yes, we are going to face TERRIBLE problem in traffic and parking. As it is, people have absolutely no concern or courtesy in driving and parking properly. It is going to be a big mess.

But, that is going to the the single thing that will force us to obey rules and system. We always do things reactively, so initially there will be problem, but we will sort them out.

SBR, you are right. It indeed is a matter of concern. However, can't blame Tata for this. Roads and infrastructure is the job of government/city planners/politicians. And they have failed miserably on this one. Every city is a traffic mayhem. Nano should be a wake-up call for them.

Tata 'NANO' - The People's Car from Tata Motors

Its gives a fair idea on the trim levels, colors offered, interior upholstery, dash details, even decals !!!
