You wont believe which car recorded a 21% increase in sales

Our Very own Hindustan Ambassador!! Year on year, a 21% rise in sales.

The irony for HM is that the almost 60 year old Ambassador is selling much more than the 6 year old Lancer.

Interesting !!
Has there been a new govt. in some states ? or some new taxi version has been introduced ? What factors have contributed to this jump?

This line from the article is funny:
"The growth in sales performance of the Ambassador can be attributed to the continuous improvements we have been bringing into the product and our strong marketing network and after sales experience with customers"

Continuous improvements to the product

the increased sales must be due to government purchases..

I've seen a few Govt of Karnataka owned Avigos running around here...
I dont think taxi operators prefer Amby any more... but i could be wrong.

Cheers

Thats real neat. and yes we get schedules for HM Kolkatta plant where the Amby is manufactured and that is substantially more than the schedules from the plant where the Lancer is manufactured !! yes its true !

but i guess a lot of amby sales are down south where the politicos and taxi drivers still prefer this comfortable old work horse over better cars.

and this surely gives hopes to the lancer..if HM continues manufacturing and selling the lancer in its present avtaar , it can see a 21 % increase in sales a decade or two later down the line

Oh my.... oh my.... I picture dying grand old lady with make up, and face lift. Only HM can do this. Did someone figure out how/why they manage to setup fancy webpages? Those cab drivers will never browse for info......

The ironic part is that any amount of web serches fail to show me links to guys like Fiat India or Palio.
