Congrats for the scoop tushky!

2 possibilities-
  1. either for a feasibility study like Citroen-Peugeot conducted a few months back in new Delhi.
  2. test mule for Indian Volkswagen polo.
if they are for a feasibility study, if someone has contacts with a research firm IMRD, may be some information can be shared.

I dont see the rationale behind VW introducing the Ibiza.I think it might be introduced as a VW model and not as a Seat.Seat doesnt have much of a brand recall in India.

This might be a test mule for the new VW small car..may be..launching an unheard of brand like Seat in India(that too mass market car) might spell doom for VW.the plan may fire backwards

yes. whenever i call seat, meny people think that i am telling about tyres. seat is popular only in europe. back in 2004, when i had gone to Poland, their i came to know about seat 1st time.

Seats inside a SEAT or SEAT's seats.

The car looks gorgeous. All of a sudden all the great looking hatchbacks are making a bee line for an entry into India or at least ARAI, as in this case!

It is pronounced as SAY-AT and not SEAT in Spanish. Hopefully this should take care of your confusion

Its hotting up in hatch segment. I wonder if people who are dishing out 6-7L should wait? IMO i20 is way too pricey for the power they offer.
Whats the ideal time one should go about shopping in this segment this year?
I am looking out for one in this segment... and i am very confused.

Looks are similar to Chevy Optra SRV. What say?

Hmmm maybe SEAT will come in as VW's mass market brand in India cause I don't see the Polo being priced below the Fabia
